We’re so grateful for everyone who’s supported and worked with us at Cyclopedic Ensemble. Sadly, because of the current lack of funds for the arts in our political climate, we’ve had to suspend productions until we can raise enough money to properly fund at least a theatre for youth production in 2027.
This was a really tough decision. We truly love and appreciate the power of live theatre. We’ve worked with so many wonderful people since we started this passion project in 2021. Chris and I spent thousands of dollars of our own money to ensure that we paid our team for their efforts. We still strongly believe in our mission of providing early-career thespians paid experiences. We could have continued this year without paying anyone, but we just didn’t feel that was fair to the wonderful artists we get the opportunity to work with. There are many unpaid opportunities to work on theatre projects. We never were able to pay our artists what they truly deserve, but we tried to pay them enough to pay expenses and maybe have a little left over.
We would like to thank The Arts Asylum: Korey Childs, Courtney Cave-Perry, and Alex Perry for all of their support and providing a home for us to perform. Also, former board members who were integral to our successful productions: Adrianna Randall, Kristen Henning, Alexander Howell, Shelley Russell and Holden Childress. We would also like to thank everyone who worked so hard being a part of our productions of The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fair(L)y (Stoopid) Tales, Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed: The Rock Experience, Dragons Love Tacos, Romantic Fools, Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors, The Others, and Night of the Living Dead Live! Live theatre is only as strong as those talented artists who are part of this wonderful art.
We’re brainstorming ways to make a comeback in 2027! We’re on the lookout for exciting new ideas and talented individuals to join our board. If you’re interested in becoming part of our team or simply want to know more, please get in touch through our website, page, or email us at [email protected] or [email protected].
Sincerely,
Eric Yazell, Artistic Director
