It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Mark Tenneson.

Mark joined us on April 20, 2009, and gave this company more than sixteen years. He was the kind of coworker every operation hopes for: loyal, steady, and someone you could always count on. If Mark said he’d be there, he was there.

But the thing we’ll remember most about Mark had nothing to do with the job. Over the years, multiple coworkers needed a place to stay and Mark opened his door without being asked. That’s who he was.

We know many of you have your own stories about Mark. Please share them here. We’d like this to be a place where his memory is kept by the people who knew him best.

Rest easy, Mark.

Today was a great day at Gerrity Industries and Sebasticook Lumber!!! We had our annual employee appreciation BBQ and Frank Lengyel Awards.
After the awards we shared the news with our crew that Gerrity Lumber Company is now 100% employee-owned. Every one of our roughly 85 employees is now an owner of this company. The people running the saws, stacking the pallets, driving the trucks, and answering the phones own the place they work.
Thank you to Peter Gerrity, whose support made this possible. He built something worth passing on, and he chose to pass it to the people who help run it every day.
We also handed out this year's Frank Lengyel Awards. Frank gave this company 47 years, and he did it with a good attitude and approach that we all strive to emulate. Each year we recognize six employees who carry that same spirit. Frank's wife Jean and daughter Lora joined us again for the drawing, and we're grateful they do.
A special thank you to my cooking crew for the day. Tonja Jones jumped in on every part of it, start to finish, and Brian Barker assisted to make sure everything was ready on time. Feeding 100 people is no small job and they made it look easy.
Congratulations to our award winners, and congratulations to all our new employee-owners. Same people, same mill, same standards — now working for themselves.
