When couples are deciding where to invest, wedding flowers are sometimes viewed as something that lasts only a day. Gasp… I know, it hurt to type it. But the truth is, they become part of the backdrop of your memories. Every time you look back at your wedding gallery, they’ll be there adding color, texture, romance, and life to the moments that mattered most.
These portraits are a perfect example. Beautiful couple? Duhhhhhhhh. But imagine them without the lush floral installations framing the scene. The flowers don’t compete for attention—they elevate everything around them.

When Leah + Scott chose The Sonnet House for their April wedding, their biggest challenge wasn't choosing flowers or colors—it was planning a wedding from opposite sides of the world.

While Leah was stationed in Germany with the United States Air Force, Scott was in the process of relocating back to the States. It would be January before Leah made the move to California herself, leaving much of their wedding planning to happen across multiple time zones and continents.

General coordination is an in-house option for all of our couples, but sometimes a season of life calls for a little more support. Leah + Scott entrusted Ellen with full-service planning, allowing them to focus on their careers while we handled the details stateside. (Special shoutout to Leah’s dad, Greg, who went above and beyond to make sure his daughter’s day PERFECT.)

One of the first priorities was finding the perfect photographer. Nathalie Triplett was an easy choice. Not only is she one of our favorite photographers, but as the wife of an Air Force servicemember herself, she understood firsthand the unique challenges of planning a wedding while serving in the military. At the time, Nathalie was living in Washington, D.C., and her perspective made her the perfect fit for this incredible couple. The best news also came during planning: Nathalie has officially moved back to Birmingham as of this month!

Some matches are simply meant to be. Leah + Scott are one of those couples, and bringing Nathalie onto their vendor team felt much the same. Their wedding gallery landed in our inbox yesterday, and we spent a solid twenty minutes staring at the screen in complete awe. These images are just the beginning, we cannot wait to share more from their beautiful day.

These are the golden days, the kind we’re gonna miss someday 🎶 Rehearsal dinners are one of our fsvorite types of events to host. They’re exciting! Even though the rehearsal is the homework of the weekend it’s also when all of your favorite people start converging to one place and you know it’s about to be the best 24 hours of your life. These are the folks who raised you, mentored you, nursed skinned knees, and maybe even the friends who helped you sneak out in highschool. They know the worst about you but they love the best. Getting to witness that joy and excitement on a weekly basis is definitely one of our favorite job perks. We get to do it again tomorrow for Megan + Christian and we-cannot-wait!

Trends come and go, but some wedding moments never lose their magic. A flower girl with a bow bigger than she is and all the confidence that comes with being five years old and having the most important job at the wedding. Classic, sweet, and every bit as charming today as ever.

Maggy + Simmons had their wedding photographer, Lauren Prevatte, cover their rehearsal and rehearsal dinner too and we’re so glad she did! We had an impromptu first look as Simmons stepped out of the dining room right as Maggy arrived for rehearsal. His reaction was priceless. You know when it’s this good the night before that the wedding day is going to be downright magical. We love these two and can’t wait to see the full gallery!

The only thing that could make Maggy + Simmons’ ceremony flowers prettier is adding in their closest friends and family standing by their side.

Other than the rose petals lining the aisle, all the flowers you see here were repurposed throughout the reception. The two large pedestal arrangements in our white Canterbury urns were places at the bar and the center of the buffet. The 4 smaller arrangements became centerpieces at guest tables, and the ceremony ledge flowers decorated the golf cart for their end-of-the-night getaway. If you have them, use them!

A first look will get us in the feels everytime! No two are the same and every now and then you get a surprise when the bride has as much of a reaction to seeing her groom as he did seeing his bride. Tess + Cole had us chopping onions for sure.

Cathryn’s bride’s cake from Barb’s Cakes was a showstopper! A smooth, buttercream design was decorated with some of our favorite flowers in the wedding colors of mixed pinks and creams. It was gorgeous, it was delicious, and it was devoured.
