When Leah + Scott chose The Sonnet House for their April wedding, their biggest challenge wasn't choosing flowers or colors—it was planning a wedding from opposite sides of the world.
While Leah was stationed in Germany with the United States Air Force, Scott was in the process of relocating back to the States. It would be January before Leah made the move to California herself, leaving much of their wedding planning to happen across multiple time zones and continents.
General coordination is an in-house option for all of our couples, but sometimes a season of life calls for a little more support. Leah + Scott entrusted Ellen with full-service planning, allowing them to focus on their careers while we handled the details stateside. (Special shoutout to Leah’s dad, Greg, who went above and beyond to make sure his daughter’s day PERFECT.)
One of the first priorities was finding the perfect photographer. Nathalie Triplett was an easy choice. Not only is she one of our favorite photographers, but as the wife of an Air Force servicemember herself, she understood firsthand the unique challenges of planning a wedding while serving in the military. At the time, Nathalie was living in Washington, D.C., and her perspective made her the perfect fit for this incredible couple. The best news also came during planning: Nathalie has officially moved back to Birmingham as of this month!
Some matches are simply meant to be. Leah + Scott are one of those couples, and bringing Nathalie onto their vendor team felt much the same. Their wedding gallery landed in our inbox yesterday, and we spent a solid twenty minutes staring at the screen in complete awe. These images are just the beginning, we cannot wait to share more from their beautiful day.
