Eastern Red (Aromatic) Cedar Traditional 6-Hole Flute

This beauty is made from Easter Red (Aromatic) Cedar, also known as Juniperus Virginiana. 🌲

Eastern Red Cedar is one of the four medicines that the Indigenous People of North America hold sacred. Used for many things, the sweet smelling wood is burned along with the other medicines in ceremony or cleansing. 💨

Saplings of the Red Cedar tree are fire hardened at the base and used for the structure of traditional housing such as the Wigwam or Wetu.

This particular piece has some of the most beautiful grain I have ever seen.

Traditional 6-Hole Flute

Unlike Modern Native American Flutes, this flute does not require a hole to be covered in order to play the minor-pentatonic scale. Just remove fingers in order from top to bottom!

What does the Strong Wind logo represent? 🏹🐢🏝

The logo is a combination of both the Four Directions and Four Winds.

The Four Directions are a common theme among the indigenous people of the Americas. The meaning of such may be different Amon them.

They represent many things, from the four cardinal directions (North, South, East and West), to the four sacred medicines (To***co, Sage, Cedar and Sweetgrass), as well as the four seasons and the four stages of life.

The colors for some, can represent the human races. The green on the inside represents our Mother Earth; rarely, there can be an outside portion colored blue, which can represent the oceans or sky. 🔴⚫️🟡⚪️
