Join the team at Mertailor’s Mermaid Aquarium Encounter! No previous mermaid experience? No problem!

✨ Training & equipment provided
✨ Mermaid tails/costumes provided
✨ No SCUBA certification required to audition
✨ Must be 18+
✨ Starting at $15/hr

You do NOT need your own tail or equipment. This is an hourly employee position with Mertailor — not a contracted performance gig. We provide the training, certifications, and equipment you need!

At Mertailor’s Mermaid Aquarium Encounter, you can experience it all under one roof!

Come face-to-face with sharks, interact with stingrays, discover rescued and rehomed wildlife, and watch our mermaids bring a little magic beneath the surface.

Behind every animal you meet is our dedicated and experienced animal care team. Our knowledgeable aquarists work hands-on with the animals in our care every day, from nutrition and enrichment to water quality, health monitoring and husbandry. They also love sharing that knowledge with our guests, giving you the opportunity to learn more about the animals you’re meeting and the care that goes into keeping them healthy and thriving.

We’ve created an experience where imagination, entertainment and education come together in a way you’re not going to find anywhere else.

And it’s all happening right here in Citrus County, just minutes from Crystal River!

Hey Citrus County! Come see us!

Right here in Lecanto is a little aquarium with a BIG heart, an incredible team, and a whole lot happening behind those doors.

Come meet our sharks and stingrays, discover rescued and rehomed wildlife, interact with some of the animals in our care, learn from our amazing team and, of course, experience the magic of our live mermaid shows.

We’ve poured so much into creating Mertailor’s Mermaid Aquarium Encounter, and we’re incredibly proud to call Citrus County home. More importantly, I’m proud of the team of people who show up every single day to care for our animals, educate our guests and keep this crazy little dream moving forward.
