Today's rehearsal at Movement Laboratory was a solo one with our beautiful senior dancer, Lizvette Liriano, who has been dancing with us since she was very young. Lizvette is both a model high school student and dancer at Movement Laboratory, at times taking over classes and helping with our younger students, and assisting her classmates in learning choreography, and it is with great trust that today Ms. Judy presented her with her own set of keys to the studio.🔑 We are so proud of all of her accomplishments and look forward to seeing her continue to shine in some solo performances this year. Today, Lizvette learned the Sugar Plum Fairy solo from the Nutcracker and continued to rehearse a solo section to the third movement from American composer Ferde Grofe's Mississippi Suite. Lizvette and our other Movement Laboratory youth ensemble dancers will be performing dances to the 3rd and 4th movements of Mississippi Suite in celebration of America's 250th year at the Hershey Theatre on November 22nd where they were invited to be a part of Viktor Yeliohin's Arabesque Charity Ballet. This event is to raise money for the Four Diamonds and support them in their fight against childhood cancer. We are so excited to be a part of this event with other local dance schools and professional artists.💜
