Songs for Heroes

Songs for Heroes Preserving legacies one verse at a time. Music Therapy for Veterans & First Responders.

08/02/2026

Last year at SFH 2025, Jason Golden shared the story of losing his beloved hound. Alongside Jimmy Nash, Julia Hatfield, and Zach Henard, they turned that story into a beautiful tribute titled "The Goodest Boy You Know." ❤️🐾

Recently, Jimmy Nash brought the song to life with a full band performance during Texas Best Music Fest at Mo's Place in Katy, Texas.

It's moments like these that remind us of the power of storytelling through music—and how every story, no matter how personal, can resonate with others.

We're excited to announce Joel Jorgensen is coming to Red River Nomad on May 16th!

Joel Jorgensen started his career in Los Angeles CA as a performing recording artist under Sony USA. He achieved an international following for his band Angels Fall. He toured with and opened for some of the largest bands in the genre such as Seether, Nickelback and many more. As his career progressed he found a love for producing and songwriting in multiple genres so Jorgensen left Los Angeles and headed for Nashville, TN to start the next chapter of his career.

Joel’s music career has taken him all over the country and around the world over the past 20 years. He is currently is producing full time plus performing all around Nashville. He has song cuts with Coffey Anderson, Bryan Martin, Rob Mayes, Wh**ey Morgan, and many more. He has been nominated for a Josie award for the song “Feeding The Beast” which he co- wrote with Claire Cunningham and also performed all instruments, engineered, and produced.

Our listening-room style shows are limited availability (seating not assigned, but guaranteed) and will sell out! We announce our headliners to our mailing list 5 weeks ahead of each show and post on social media 4 weeks ahead of each show.

***SAVE THE DATE*** We held SFH 2024 in San Antonio, TX and have been working hard behind the scenes to plan another event out that way.

We're excited to announce that for the 2026 San Antonio Marathon (our 3rd marathon/team event), we are also adding a "virtual" way for you to join us by pledging to run/walk the distance to honor our heroes. We will also have SFH finisher medals, jerseys, and tshirts available for purchase in the near future, so stay tuned for updates on those.

For our local San Antonio past participants/supporters- we are working on a little get together/mini event during that weekend and we'd love to see you all out there.

More to come!

Songs For Heroes Family- We are saddened to share the news of SFH 2025 participant (and supporter), Mary Luna Enderle's passing. She was a supporter of many veterans organizations, including Forgotten Coast K9, that provides trained service dogs to Veterans & First Responders, which she shared about during our SFH 2025 concert in Nashville last November.

The below song, "I'm Moving Forward", was the song she co-wrote with our writers Jimmy Nash and John Eason during her session. RIP Mary.
