I recently took a high poly, 3D Ford RS200 Rally Car that I modeled back in 2011 and converted it into a dirtied up lower poly variant of the same car. For the new model, I reused the older car’s high poly geometry to generate physically-based rendered (PBR) textures which helped to retain the original model’s detail. Using 3DS Max and Substance Painter, I was able to reduce the polygon count of the car from over two million polys to about 112,00 while maintaining much of the high poly model’s integrity. I was even able to add additional detail to the engine and underside of the vehicle that previously did not exist on the old model.

It was easy to quickly generate renderings in both Arnold and I-Ray render engines which are respectively found in 3DS Max and Substance Painter. while working on the project, I found that one of the best ways of viewing the model was through Max's newly integrated viewport enhancements. With the latest release of 3DS Max 2021, Autodesk added new PBR and HDRI shaders which essentially allowed me to view the car fully rendered, in real time, much in the same way that a game engine would behave.

Also, for the first time, I experimented with a website called Sketchfab. Sketchfab lets you upload your model to their site while in turn allowing anyone to freely view and navigate your model in a real time 3D environment. Viewers of your model are able to make adjustments to the lighting, view various materials, geometry and even view the model in VR.

I took my high poly Ford RS200 Group B Rally Car that I modeled back in 2011 and created a lowdown, dirtied up low poly version. For a majority of the new model, I reused the older, high poly, version to bake out normal and height map information. Using 3DS Max and Substance Painter, I was able to d...

I was given the task to create clothing for a group of game characters that would be part of an Unreal asset pack. At first, the characters were to be somewhat generic in nature, mostly business casual. However, the theme of the project quickly evolved into an 80’s street fighter game. This projec...

This is a Work in progress. The goal is to be bring the house and future landscaping into a game engine. All the high and low poly modeling was done in 3DS Max as well as the unwrapping.Texturing is physically based (PBR) done in Substance Painter.

Escape from Nefertiti’s Tomb is a multi-episode escape room VR adventure that finds the player trapped inside the hidden tomb of Nefertiti. Alone, they must explore the ruins, searching for a way to escape. Standing in their way is a collection of S.T.E.A.M. / S.T.E.M. based puzzles that the player must solve to move forward. All while learning the history of Nefertiti and the cult of Aten.

I was tasked with creating and building a room entitled "Bath of Sun." Bath of Sun is a water displacement experiment / puzzle. In the center of the room is a large elevated pool of water. On all sides there are two additional pools, each less elevated than the next. When objects are added to the main pool, the water is displaced. Displace enough water to fill the second pool and the escape door opens. Spill from the second to the third and it all drains refilling the first pool.
