The concho saga continues!

Along with the round conchos I’ve added heart shaped conchos!

Even gave brass and sterling silver a try. Nickel silver aka German silver will be added once I get the final molds made.

The sterling silver piece is a 3/4” necklace pendant I made for my wife for our 50th wedding anniversary.

I can add different edging designs to enhance the look.

Hopefully I’ll have all these in full production in the next few weeks.

After hanging up my spurs several years ago I still held on to my saddles. Last week I decided it was time to let them ride as well. They have been in storage and only taken out occasionally to clean and apply leather conditioner.

The Billy Cook cutter has a 15-1/2” seat, rawhide braided horn, rawhide covered oxbow stirrups, hood pick holder, silver conchos and is fully tooled.

The Buford cutting/reining (from Buford, GA) has a braided rawhide horn, silver conchos and is fully tooled.

The youth saddle is a Simco with 13” seat partial tooling and was only ridden maybe 6 times. Yes, it’s old enough to vote but has been taken good care of.

My latest venture in the cowboy engraving world.

Flanged conchos!!

This is something I’ve been working on part time for the past several weeks. I really have no idea how many press plates I’ve made that started out great and gave up the ghost after a few try’s .

Today I made my first completed pair of 3/4” headstall conchos from the steel plates I finished early this morning.

I made another set of plates in 1-1/2” size that will get used later in the week if time allows.

It’s not often I make something for myself (or atleast until someone wants it more than me).

It’s a Pagani wrist watch with Rodeo Events engraved into the band.

The case has a simple leaf design and waves on the bezel, while the case body has Running Wheat design on the sides.

The band has a Steer Roper, Calf Roper and Team Ropers on one side with standard engraving. The other side has a Saddle Bronc Rider, Ba****ck Rider and a Bull Rider on it with standard engraving as well.

Guess you can say it’s not something you see everyday!!

Finished up this bracelet this afternoon. It’s copper with brass trim and has a stainless liner. It’s a size 6-1/2” length x 1-5/8” at its widest point and has a brass spur rowel in the middle.

If you like copper, but hate the (Kermit the frog) green wrist commonly left on you while wearing copper the stainless liner will prevent that.

This is a first in two ways for me.

It’s my first time working with another artist on a piece and it’s my first s***f can to engrave.

Colleague and fellow silversmith Sarah Worrell of Rodeorosemercantile started this s***f can by adding the copper trim and horse head. I hand engraved it and now it’s available.

Time to let the secret out on the mystery material in the ring I finished this morning and necklace pendant I just finished. The pendant is available!!

It’s White Bronze!!

You can see in the lower picture how it comes to me. It takes a lot of annealing and several trips through my roller mill to make it into usable pieces.

I used copper trim on the ring while I used brass and copper on the pendant.

I’ll be making other pieces using the white bronze, but not anytime soon. It can take a full day to turn one of those chunks into sheet strips.

Trying another new alternative material for jewelry. Only a very few know what the band material is. Can you guess it. It is considered an Artisan material.

This commissioned piece turned out nice. The copper trim really makes it pop!!

Still having a go at what some consider alternative materials for jewelry making.

This hand made, hand engraved 6-1/2”x 1-1/2” stainless and copper bracelet came out pretty dang nice in my book.

No need to worry with tarnish on the stainless band. Just simply giving the copper parts a once over every now and then with a jewelry polishing cloth and it will stay bright and shiny.
