I put the Phenyx Pro PTAU-2 Wireless Microphone System to a real-world test while DJing and emceeing a nearly 200-guest wedding at Tsillan Cellars in Lake Chelan, Washington. 🎤

This venue is BIG and spread out, so clear and reliable wireless audio was important—especially for the grand entrance and announcements.

For this setup I was running:
• Phenyx Pro PTAU-2 Wireless Mic System
• QSC KC12 speakers
• 2 EV EVERSE speakers
• One EVERSE wired + one sent wirelessly using an XVive U35

The PTAU-2 sounded crisp and crystal clear throughout the space. One feature I especially appreciated was the frequency scanning, which allowed me to find a clean frequency before the event and gave me confidence going into a demanding wireless setup.

As a wedding DJ and MC, microphone quality matters. Grand entrances, speeches, toasts and announcements are some of the biggest moments of the wedding day, and guests need to hear every word.

These songs couldn’t have been more different.

Most DJs would’ve separated them or skipped one altogether.

But they were both on the couple’s must-play list.

So instead of asking, “What would I play?” I asked, “How can I make their vision come to life?”

The result? A genre jump that kept the energy building and gave this Michigan couple a dance floor that felt completely their own.

That’s what I love most about destination weddings. Every couple brings their own story, their own people, and their own soundtrack.

My job isn’t to recreate the same wedding every weekend.

STOP LISTENING TO US. (wedding vendors) The “DO NOT PLAY” list is getting out of hand...here is why ⬇️⬇️

We (Wedding Vendors) have gotten way too loud telling couples to cut “overplayed” or “cheesy” songs…
even when those are the exact songs that pack a dance floor.

Real talk:
Those songs work for a reason.

Sometimes DJs don’t hate them, they’re just tired of them and that’s not your problem, it's ours! We see hundreds of Weddings and this is your one wedding.

If your people would go crazy for it—PLAY IT.
If your aunt’s gonna scream every word—DROP IT.

Because a “perfect” playlist means nothing
if the dance floor’s dead.

Hot take:
You won’t regret playing a “cringe” song…
you’ll regret killing a moment.

Build a night that feels like you.
Not what your Wedding vendors think is cool.l
