It looks like this will be the first finished piece of my new series! This year I’m trying to create art that pushes me in areas I struggle and have subjects I’m truly passionate about. Im making the pieces I want to, without waiting for anything. I’ve decided that in my paintings I want to create pieces in my style inspired by some of my favorite Artists. This one is inspired by Michelangelo. I’ve always loved how eccentric and sassy he is. This piece is specifically inspired by the Sistine Chapel painting he did. He did not want to paint this piece for the pope at all and actually had a lot of difficulty painting it. He even ran away (multiple times) and the pope had to lock him up just so he would actually finish it! 😂 Michaelangelo wrote several poems about how much he hated painting and related it to torture. (I think painting these hands is torture lol) he is the reason I fell in love with Art history and started learning more in-depth about other artists. When I heard part of his story I had to know more and in learning about my favorite artists I felt truly understood. I found my place. I’m impatiently excited to share this series with you all and the different elements that went into these. Thank you for your continued love ❤️
