It looks like this will be the first finished piece of my new series! This year I’m trying to create art that pushes me in areas I struggle and have subjects I’m truly passionate about. Im making the pieces I want to, without waiting for anything. I’ve decided that in my paintings I want to create pieces in my style inspired by some of my favorite Artists. This one is inspired by Michelangelo. I’ve always loved how eccentric and sassy he is. This piece is specifically inspired by the Sistine Chapel painting he did. He did not want to paint this piece for the pope at all and actually had a lot of difficulty painting it. He even ran away (multiple times) and the pope had to lock him up just so he would actually finish it! 😂 Michaelangelo wrote several poems about how much he hated painting and related it to torture. (I think painting these hands is torture lol) he is the reason I fell in love with Art history and started learning more in-depth about other artists. When I heard part of his story I had to know more and in learning about my favorite artists I felt truly understood. I found my place. I’m impatiently excited to share this series with you all and the different elements that went into these. Thank you for your continued love ❤️

Reindeer farm today 🥰
Totally jealous of their vision! They are the only animal in the world that can see ultraviolet light and that’s so cool! I wonder what the world looks like for them ☺️

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you guys had a wonderful holiday break! I’m so excited to get back into the studio and create again 😁
This year has started off with some great goals and my biggest one is to get back to myself!
The transition from being out of the army has been a harder one then I’d like to admit, trying to remember who I was before I joined, who I was while I was in and who I want to be now that I’m out.
I’m definitely not the 19 year old I was and I’m not a soldier anymore.
Everyone told me that the first 18 months being out are hard and I really didn’t believe them. For awhile I was struggling to figure out who I am without it all. It’s hard being away from my friends and family, hard to live life without a sense of purpose.
I’m saying all that because I really feel it’s held me back, mentally, physically and creatively.
This year I want to live unafraid of life, unafraid of who I am. I’m excited to share this with you guys, and I hope you’ll still be here with me through it!
If you got this far, thanks for the read 🥰

Happy Finished Art Friday!!
This is such a special piece to me, I painted it for someone in my family who’s overseas right now and really missing his home. I told him to take a picture and I’d paint it for him, this is from the coast of Cali in one of his favorite spots ☺️
This is the first Ocean I’ve ever attempted to paint and it was really scary to complete, I put a lot of pressure on myself sometimes to make everything perfect and while this is not a perfect painting I do think it’s a perfect piece of home 💗

Happy Finished Art Friday!!!
This piece is the last one in this series and one of my favorites!! I did one layer of paint and then ripped up a bunch of tape to make leaf shapes and painted over it. I love this this effect and it was so cool to play around with! I was really intimidated with painting so many on such a small canvas but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I definitely have some areas to improve on here but I’m absolutely okay with that because that’s how you get better! I hope you guys have a safe weekend!

I know I posted this on my story butttt I’m going to make a real post too. I’m so stunned, I can’t believe this is really happening! I’m just a few weeks the exhibition will be up at the gallery! I’m really honored to have been chosen for this! I’ve been working really hard the last few years trying to find my style and refine my skills. I love being an Artist. I love creating beautiful paintings and seeing them come to life. I love talking out ideas with my friends and searching for inspiration in everything around me. It is a beautiful way to live.
To be honest growing up I never thought I’d make it this far. I never thought things would be better. Life seemed to be about suffering. Now I’m in my mid-twenties, I have the most wonderful husband and our two fur babies. I am a semi successful artist. I have been able to heal. I don’t know what the future brings but I am curious. I can imagine a future that I love. It started with my best friend, Dylan, thank you for your support, your encouragement, your ideas, your understanding. You are my ultimate inspiration. You push me to be better, you make new things exciting and you always know exactly what my paintings need. I could not have done this without my sister, Lena, thank you for your support. My whole life you believed in me. You protected me, gave me a home, you feed my creativity and send me the most wonderful ideas. I have had so much help from so many people but you two I could not have done this without. I am so thankful for this opportunity and so thankful to have you both in my life, so thankful to have so many wonderful best friends .clay .e.gaunt i cannot possibly name every one but you guys have been amazing. Thank you so so much!
I will be posting more about the gallery and the show to help promote the Exhibition, Thank you all again for being some of the most wonderful people in my life. ❤️

Finished Art Friday!!
This was my first mushroom I did for this series, I love the background, it was really fun to create! The mushrooms were harder because it was my first attempt, it’s crazy to see how much has changed through my paintings. Even in just 10 paintings I learned some new techniques. I used a limited pallet with this painting as well.
I hope everyone has a nice weekend!
