In a historic weekend, several art students leveled up in both the State Vase competition and the Congressional Art competition bringing home hardware and swag!
Freshman Ryatt West earned top achievement as a Gold Seal medalist at State Vase in San Marcos on Saturday, with his photograph, “Trolley Car in Motion”.
Earning a Gold Seal is an incredible feat when you consider only 7% of the State entries receive this honor! This year, directors announced 32,000 artworks were entered, about 2100 advanced to state and 151 were selected as Gold Seal winners. This is the first time a Rouse Raider earned a Gold Seal.
Seniors Faye Zayed, Xander Zamora, Sophomore Maggie Harrison and Freshman Suah Lee all scored exemplary ratings of a 4 giving them each ownership of another medal!
Meanwhile in Georgetown, at the Congressional Art ceremony, several Rouse students were recognized for their submissions for Texas District 31.
Senior Logan Deville won first place in mixed media.
Junior Maxton Vargas won 1st place in photography.
Junior Sihoon Lee was awarded 2nd place overall! 💫
Madeline Logan, Jaylen Guevara, Alannah Garza, Pooja Chidamabaram, Effie Eljan and Lia Cooper also participated in this event.
Congratulations to all the students who entered into these competitions! Your hard work and talent do not go unnoticed!
Parents, we appreciate all of your support of our students and of our program!
We are extremely proud.
The public is invited to view these and more Raider artworks at the spring student art show, this Thursday.
