Inside the Woodshop We are putting a new spin on dates, events, and family gatherings! + 1on1 woodworking lessons! It’s truly an experience to cherish!

Ballard and Son Construction in League City is now offering private lessons - woodworking sessions for couples, small groups, and youth groups. Rather than spending another evening at the movies or at a crowded restaurant, you and your significant other, friends, and children can build a custom piece together. Each session includes safety lesson to go over proper use of tools, and a take-home wood

en project that you build yourself. Space is limited to 4 students per class. Sorry, but no refunds or exchanges. CANCELLATION POLICY:
There are no refunds or exchanges when purchasing your tickets. So, please be sure about the date you are selecting. If something comes up before the date night you selected, we recommend trying to sell your tickets to friends or finding someone to purchase them. This would allow you to reschedule at your own convenience. We want you to be aware well beforehand that the purchases are final. We start prepping and paying for your projects as soon as you pay. When you are ready to do that, please provide your email address and we will make payment arrangements.

This week Eli worked on cleaning up his dovetail joints with a hand plane. Once he cleaned them up as much as possible, he mixed up some saw dust and wood glue to fill them in a bit. Overall these joints look great. First dovetail down, many more to come.

Today was all about joinery! Eli completed his first dovetail joint. He did amazing, as usual. Whenever he is given advice on how to improve his technique, he quickly applies it on his next try. That is a sure sign of a craftsman.

A craftsman is confident, masters his skills, and has a great attitude. This is Eli all the way. I don't see him slowing down anytime soon.

What a day! This student was amazing at everything he did. A bright shining rising star in the woodworking tradition. He is learning traditional unplugged woodworking. He passed all of his tasks for the day.

There are three traits that make up an excellent craftsman. Confidence, Mastery of Skills, and Attitude. He displayed the best of all three today. Can't wait to see his progress next week!

Howdy howdy! Check out this 1969 Chevy truck bench I'm making for guest to sit on in the entry way of the shop! Who wants to learn how to weld and fabricate!? I have been waiting to release a new product for the wood shop classes. All I can say right now is that it is work out related! It involves welding..and it's something you'll be able to use for the rest of your life!!!
