Tabor Opera House Preservation Foundation

The Tabor Opera House Preservation Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to revitalizing Leadville's historic Tabor Opera House.

High in the Colorado Rockies stands the Tabor Opera House, where you can still sense spirit of the Silver Rush. Set in Leadville, Colorado, the highest-elevation city in North America, the Tabor Opera House hosts world-class performances and tours each summer. In 2019, this remnant of the wild West—deemed a National Treasure by the National Trust for Historic Preservation—celebrated its 140th anniversary. Yet the decades have taken a toll on the Tabor, named one of Colorado’s Endangered Places, by Colorado Preservation, Inc. Today, a spirited effort is underway to revitalize this historic opera house and create a center for diverse arts and culture in the heart of Leadville.

Last call for the 2026 tour season. 🍂

Public group tours run Friday through Sunday with several times available, now through mid-October. After that, the doors close until late May.

If you’re coming up for Octoberville, add the Tabor to your list. 140+ years of Leadville history, a stage that’s hosted everyone from Oscar Wilde to Houdini, and a whole lot of stories in between.

Come out and support Cloud City Mountain Sports at their annual fundraiser!

Every ticket helps fund the coaches and the club that gives youth from Lake and Chaffee counties the chance to grow as people and athletes through education and outdoor sports.

This year they've teamed up with Teton Gravity Research to bring the new TGR film "Actually, It Is Rocket Science" to Leadville! 🎿 The mountain becomes a laboratory and the world's best skiers become its scientists, testing the limits of speed, precision, creativity, and commitment on some of the most consequential terrain on the planet.

From Alaska to Japan, British Columbia to Finland, Andorra to Vermont, it's a film about the calculations before the drop, the instincts that take over once you're in it, and the thin margin between an idea and a line that actually works.

Leadville made the 200+ stop global tour, so let's show up big! 🏔️

Vintage horsepower meets Victorian grandeur. 🏎️✨

The Colorado Grand rolled through Leadville this week, bringing rare sports and race cars parked in front of the historic Tabor Opera House. Think Ferraris, Porsches, Bugattis, and Mercedes-Benz classics, all winding through the Rockies at peak fall color.

Founded in 1989, the Colorado Grand is a five-day, 1,000-mile charity tour that raises money each year for small Western Slope communities and regional causes.

Two icons of craftsmanship, one mountain town. Built by silver magnate H.A.W. Tabor in 1879, our opera house has seen a lot roll down Harrison Ave, and this crew was a special sight.

Back by popular demand following a sold-out 2025 appearance, the Tabor is thrilled to host the return of the Young Dubliners as part of leadville's Irish Weekend. Founded in 1988, The Young Dubliners’ raucous live shows earned them comparisons to The Pogues and The Levellers early in their career, a reputation they’ve cemented in the ensuing decades. Although the Young Dubliners sound is most commonly called ‘Celtic Rock’, that label can often be misleading. The Irish influence is certainly there, but it’s not the only influence that bursts through on their albums or live shows. The band is Keith Roberts (vocals / guitar), Chas Waltz (Violin, keys, vocals), Justin Pecot (guitar, vocals), Dave Ingraham (drums) and Ethan Jones (bass guitar). The Young Dubliners have released nine albums to date. In recent years the Young Dubs have appeared twice on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, had songs featured in TV shows (Sons Of Anarchy, Human Target) and toured extensively as a headliner and as the opener for such a diverse list of artists as Collective Soul, Jethro Tull, Johnny Lang, Los Lobos, Chris Isaak and many more.

This year we said goodbye to three incredible staff members as they headed off to college, and we could not be prouder of where they've landed! 💫

Mae Finken started at Colorado Mesa University, studying both Musical Theater and Pre-Medicine, chasing her love of performing arts and the healthcare industry.

Rinnen started at Western Colorado University, studying Graphic Design. In her own words: "I am very excited to meet new people, explore the outdoors, and continue growing my creativity. I'm especially looking forward to skiing, mountain biking, and all the new adventures this next chapter will bring!"

Ethan started at Red Rocks Community College with his sights set on international law and a future as an immigration rights lawyer.

We are endlessly grateful for the time, talent, and heart you three brought to our team. Leadville (and the Tabor) will be cheering you on every step of the way. 🎓❤️
