TC’s Fine Minerals and Collectibles is owned and operated by Thomas Campbell. Tom is a professional geologist and applied mineralogist who has worked in a variety of commodities from gold to rare element-bearing pegmatites. He has performed considerable research on various ore deposits, especially the Homestake Gold Mine, the Hemlo Gold Camp and various pegmatites in Black Hills of South Dakota an

d Brazil. He has authored and co-authored numerous publications including USGS Bulletin 1857-J on the Homestake gold deposit and the second edition of the Encyclopedia of Minerals (1990) with his mentor and friend Bill Roberts. Tom has also discovered three minerals new to science: Tiptopite, Fransoletite, and Pahasapaite, and has assisted in the characterization of several others new species. Tom’s interest in minerals and mineralogy was fostered by his father, Donald Campbell, who was a professional research chemist, and collecting minerals was a spin-off of their mutual in chemistry. Tom has a passion for mineralogy and geology and enjoys promoting an interest in these interests with others and as commited to help mineral enthusiasts build their collections.

Native Sulfur on Aragonite: Cozzodisi Mine, Casteltermini, Agrigento Province, Sicily, Italy. Dimensions: 4.5 x 4.0 x 3.2cm, miniature. An absolutely elegant and showy cluster of gemmy to translucent Sulfur crystals from the classic locality in Sicily placed perfectly on a small amount of crystalline Aragonite. The blocky crystals exhibit excellent orthorhombic form, a rich lemon-yellow color and good luster! The largest Sulfur crystal measures 3.3cm across! Large and handsome Bournonite cluster from the Yaoganxian Mine, Yizhang Co., Hunan Province, China. Dimensions: 5.1 x 3.1 x 2.0cm, miniature. Two large, lustrous Bournonite crystals intersect in a broad V-shape to form a twin-like arrangement along with two other smaller, companion crystals. The largest Bournonite is an impressive 4cm long x 1.9cm wide, nicely striated and doubly terminated! The other crystal measures 2.6 x 1.8cm and is also doubly terminated! Excellent Thaumasite miniature from the Black Rock Mine, Hotazel, Kalahari Manganese Field, Northern Cape Province, South Africa. Dimensions 3.8 x 3.8 x 1.8cm. Thaumasite is a complex and highly hydrated calcium silicate-sulfate-carbonate hydroxide and although occurring at numerous localities, the mines in the Kalahari Manganese Fields have produced the best of species, and this piece is a great example!
