It's a sad day in Cowboy World 😢
Robert Duvall died peacefully today at his ranch in Virginia.
He was one of the BEST COWBOY ACTORS EVER. A heart throb at any age. He had a very recognizable voice, smile and walk that set him aside from the rest.
Besides Lonesome Dove... he made over 80 movies! I also enjoyed him in non-westerns such as Rambling Rose, Get Low and the Apostle.

*** IN HONOR OF HANK WILLIAMS ***

This day 1952...Hank Williams was scheduled to perform at the Municipal Auditorium in Charleston, West Virginia but due to an ice storm in the Nashville area, he could not fly, so he hired Charles Carr, to drive him to the concert. When they arrived at the Andrew Johnson Hotel in Knoxville, Tennessee, Hank complained of feeling unwell and saw a doctor. Charles and Hank checked out of the hotel, and at around midnight in Bristol, Virginia, Carr stopped at a small all-night restaurant and asked Hank if he wanted to eat. Hank said he did not, and those are believed to be his last words. Carr later stopped for fuel at a gas station in Oak Hill, West Virginia, where he realized that Hank Williams was dead.

Oh no. Cowboy World lost another one besides Graham Greene...
Randy Boone 😢

Since I just posted about Graham Greene and asked this same question; what was your favorite Randy Boone film?

He sang and played guitar on the NBC show and was a regular on ‘It's a Man's World’ and ‘Cimarron Strip’ as well.

*** JOHN HENRY HOLLIDAY ***
Today, August 14th, 1851, John Henry Holliday was born in Griffin, Georgia.
Known simply as "Doc Holliday", most people think of Doc as the Val Kilmer character in the movie TOMBSTONE.
When I googled a photo to use on this post, dozens of photos came up as Doc. However, 90% of them are NOT Doc Holliday.
There are many movies and books out there about his short and adventurous life. I believed he lived it the way he had to, fearless and fierce, loyal for as long as possible.
I loved researching Doc for my novel, TIME IN CONTENTION. Trying to capture his personality gave me chills of excitement. Have you read it?
