Kirkman Wins Sprint Car Feature at Lawrenceburg!

Kokomo, Indiana's Kole Kirkman dominated the 25 lap Kelsey Chevrolet Sprint Car Feature at Lawrenceburg Speedway Saturday night, securing his first 410 sprint car feature win. Kirkman grabbed the lead from the outside front row and never looked back. Shawn Westerfeld finished second followed by Joss Moffatt, Ryan Barr and Austin Nigh. Heat race winners were Kirkman, Westerfeld and Noah Whitehouse. The Kelsey Chevrolet Sprint Cars return to Lawrenceburg on Saturday, September 5th for the Dick Gaines Memorial.

Shepherd Picks Up Sport Mod Win!

Eric Shepherd picked up the Sport Modified feature Saturday night at Lawrenceburg. He started from the fourth position, grabbed the lead, and held off polesitter Chris Kruetzkamp, Daniel Dehner, Ryan Morton and Marty O'Neal. Josh Tidwell, Kruetzkamp, and Casey Ulm won the heat races. The Sport Modifieds return to Lawrenceburg on Saturday September 5th.

Todd Wins SCDRA Compact Feature!

Jacob Todd picked up the SCDRA Sport Compact Feature win and $1300 in an exciting feature that saw side-by-side racing for not only the lead but several other positions throughout the field. Todd saw several challengers fall out due to mechanical failures but maintained his lead throughout the sport compact train. The rest of the top 5 were Brandon Gibson, Jr., Chris Wise, Zach Kisner, and Jamie Harper. Heat race winners were Jacob Todd, Zach Kisner, and Jamie Harper.

Moore Wins Second Crown Vic Feature!

Cordell Moore dominated the Crown Vic Feature, picking up his second feature win in a row at Lawrenceburg. Andrew Saville was second followed by Ed Johnson, Ethan Brown and Zane Shelton. Cordell Moore won the heat race and set quick time, giving him the clean sweep of the evening. The Rupp Roof and Seamless Gutters return to Lawrenceburg on Saturday September 5th.

Lawrenceburg, Indiana (August 23, 2026)………Tyler Nelson charged from seventh to first in the first five laps to score the win during Saturday night’s USAC Midwest Thunder SpeeD2 Midget Presented by Performance Electronics feature at Indiana’s Lawrenceburg Speedway.

Nelson (Olathe, Kansas) ran the high line on The Burg’s 3/8-mile dirt high banks, leading the final 16 laps to capture his second series victory of the season and the third of his career, tying Cale C***s and Michael Magic for 12th place on the all-time series win list.

Ian Creager established the early lead from his outside front row starting spot. However, following a yellow flag, on the lap three restart, sixth place starting Luke Hall cruised by Creager to lead laps three and four. By lap five, Nelson was in full control.

Nelson kept Hall at bay down the stretch to capture the win by a 1.164 second margin. Matt Lux got by Bryce Massingill for third with four laps remaining while Landen Francis rounded out the top-five.

Hall was the Velocita by Borsos Racing Fast Qualifier with a time of 15.840 seconds.

Stratton Briggs, Matt Lux, Luke Hall, and Tyler Nelson won each of the four heat races presented by Jeff Hill Trailer Sales, Stiefel’s Home & Auto, Hoosier Auto Racing Fans, and Performance Electronics.

Briggs earned the Wilwood Disc Brakes Tough Brake award after drawing the number eight pill in the feature redraw. Briggs won his heat race earlier in the night before going on to finish eighth in the feature.

Buddy Hollmeyer celebrated his birthday with a 10th place finish, which earned him the LynK Chassis bonus.

Rookie Taten Long received the Performance Powder Coating Hard Charger award, advancing 11 positions from 23rd to 12th in the feature.

Landen Francis picked up the Rosewood Machine & Tool Precision Move of the Race after posting the third best qualifying time of the night, then finished second in his heat race before grabbing a top five result in his Lawrenceburg debut.

Jonathon Decker and Dylan Trost walked away from a major tumble in the feature.

Rookie point leader Kole Kirkman experienced mechanical issues with his new midget throughout the night, finishing 21st in the feature. However, he did win the accompanying sprint car main event, leading every lap en route to his first career sprint car victory.
