Arrived in Rome on the 25th. Started the day with a walking tour of Ancient Rome. Made our way from Trevi Fountain to the Colosseum Great way to get familiar with the city. Found our hotel which ended up being centrally located to all the things we wanted to see. We spent the late afternoon and evening walking to the Pantheon and Piazza Navona for dinner
On the 26th we headed back to colosseum for an arena floor and Roman Forum tour. Amazing! We enjoyed an Aperol Spritz with lunch which was great but found we really liked the Hugo Spritz that we had with dinner. There are so many amazing churches that you might just walk by and admire the architecture but we started going in to all the ones we could and they were all beyond beautiful. We spent the evening walking to the Spanish Steps and then back to the Pantheon for dinner and a night time view. On the 27th we were heading home and to make the trip even better the plane that should have held approx 300 people was basically empty so our economy seats felt like 1st class beds. This was another trip of a lifetime and I can’t wait for the next one.

Today was a HOT one and we didn’t get to the Olympic ruins until the afternoon so it prime time for meltdowns. Luckily there were a few shade trees along the route. It was cool to see where the Olympic torch gets lit still today as wells as training and competing areas. The museum was impressive and had AC so that was a bonus. Once we left the ruins had late lunch in Olympia and called it a day before we had a heat stroke

AUG 22 -Mykonos Greece
We took a ferry over to the archaeological site of Delos. Then ferried back to Mykonos and walked around the village until we got to the windmills. It was a beautiful view and the water is turquoise. Had some fresh pasta and enjoyed sitting along the coast. It was a great way to spend a Birthday ✈️🌍

This morning we headed to the UNESCO site of Ephesus
The Ephesus Archaeological Site is one of the most impressive historical treasures. Pictures do not do it justice. Pretty sure this will be at the top of my list. I couldn’t pass up taking pics of all the cats on the site Apparently the cat in center pic has a popular FB page
Once we left Ephesus we had a Turkish bagel and Raki 👍👍. ✈️🌍

We spent the morning touring the prehistoric town of Akrotiri. Seeing the how important pottery was to the city and the ancient pottery studio was a highlight. We made our way to the village of Oia and had some of the best pistachio gelato
Once we got thru Oia we stopped at another village called Fira. In Fira we found a cocktail bar on the cliff side. The views were beautiful and the watermelon daiquiris were even better
