We're down to the end... are you available to help on Saturday?

We've been very successful in giving away many, many things to other theater groups, but it's dumpster time.

We could use a dozen people this Saturday starting at 8:00 AM. If you can work 2-3 hours or one hour... starting at 8:00 or starting a noon... please email Scott at [email protected] to let me know when you're available.

There is only a small amount of heavy lifting. Most of what's left is very manageable -- light in weight and only an elevator ride from the dumpster.

Thanks in advance.

We are down to the end: there is only one opportunity left for you to walk away with furniture, props, and set pieces -- Tuesday, 10/26, from 5:30-8:30 PM at 15 Union St. in Lawrence (4th floor). These photos show what's available: https://photos.app.goo.gl/XVT4bvB9e25koXhb8

BTW it's not just the things in the cabinets and on the shelves but the cabinets and shelves themselves. Note the two full-sized workbenches (green tops) and one wide but narrower wooden workbench. Lots of flats, some with doors and windows. And a pre-lit Christmas tree!

Questions? Call 617-470-2175.

!! PLEASE SHARE !!

As you know, Spotlight Playhouse is closing and we must get rid of our inventory of sets, props, costumes, furniture, and dozens of rolls of fabric.
Everything must go and we’re giving it all away for free!
See the photos here of Furniture, Five sets of stairs, Urinetown sign and Pump organ (not functional but a great set piece)
(more photos to come)
We will be holding two open house events in our rehearsal space:
WHEN:
- Sunday, October 17 - 12:00pm - 4:00pm
- Saturday, October 23 - 12:00pm - 4:00pm
LOCATION:
Everett Mills - 4th floor
15 Union Street
Lawrence, MA.
**The entrance to the passenger elevator is at the back (the parking lot side, not the Union Street side) A freight elevator is available.
There will be a donation bucket if you’d like to contribute to our closing expenses, but everything is free for the taking. Theater groups have first priority but everyone is welcome: photographers looking for costumes or props… even someone looking for a few things to use around the house.
Email [email protected] if you have questions. Otherwise, just show up during the open house session.
Please share and thank you for your support!

Dear friends,
The Spotlight Playhouse Board of Directors has been forced to make a very difficult decision and we regret to inform you that Spotlight Playhouse will suspend operations on October 31, 2021.

A series of events has brought us to this hard decision. For the full details please read the Letter to the Community.

The Scharn family has been part of the Spotlight Playhouse family for several years. Bob Scharn, father of Matt and husband of Coleen, was one of those volunteers that every organization covets: He was selfless, ever-present, and always seemed to put himself in the right place to be helpful, whether that was backstage, loading a truck, or in the lobby.

Bob passed away last year from COVID-19 and we at Spotlight Playhouse miss him. Coleen and Matt have started a GoFundMe campaign to honor Bob's recent birthday and have graciously offered to split the proceeds between us and our friends at Acting Out.

Please consider making a donation in Bob's memory that will support two local community theater companies.

First we would like to thank everyone again for their love and support… Matthew Scharn needs your support for Robert J Scharn Jr’s Birthday Theatre Fundraiser
