A few days ago, we shared a post from the MGA organization regarding the tabulation error that occurred during the Miss Gay Kansas America pageant. We want to express how saddened we are that this situation took place.

The emotional rollercoaster our contestants were forced to experience is not the kind of pageant journey we envisioned for them. Each contestant devoted countless hours, energy, resources, and passion in preparation for this event, and they deserved an experience that reflected the professionalism, integrity, and excellence that our organization strives to uphold.

While we appreciate the MGA organization's transparency in addressing the error and taking steps to correct it, our hearts remain with the contestants who were directly impacted. We recognize the disappointment, confusion, and emotions that accompanied this situation, and we are grateful for the grace and professionalism each contestant demonstrated throughout the process.

We remain committed to supporting our titleholders, contestants, and the pageant community, and we will continue working to ensure that every contestant is provided with a fair, respectful, and positive experience moving forward. Thank you to everyone who has shown understanding and support during this time.

At this time, we would also like to formally congratulate our newly recognized Miss Gay Kansas America, Katty Wampus Bradley Meyer. We look forward to celebrating her achievement and officially crowning her in the near future. We know she will represent the title with pride, dedication, and excellence, and we are excited to support her throughout the year ahead.

Congratulations, Katty Wampus, on this well-deserved honor. We wish you a successful and memorable reign as Miss Gay Kansas America. ✨👑

The Miss Gay America organization would like to formally recognize an error that occurred during the tabulation of the recent Miss Gay Kansas America regional preliminary held on July 18.

On July 21, after contestants received their score sheets from the promoters, one contestant brought to our attention what appeared to be duplicate scores between the Evening Gown and Onstage Q&A categories, noting that the scores in both categories were identical. This only applied to the one contestant.

Upon receiving this concern, the national office immediately initiated a comprehensive review of the tabulation process. As part of that review, we retrieved the original judges' scores submitted in real time through the Miss Gay America electronic scoring system.

The MGA electronic scoring system has been thoroughly vetted by both the national office and the national tabulator. Under normal procedure, judges submit their scores through a secure online form, and those scores are automatically and immediately transferred into a spreadsheet containing built-in tabulation formulas.

Our audit determined that, in this instance, an incorrect score was inadvertently copied from another spreadsheet into the Onstage Q&A category for one contestant.

Using the raw judges scores, the contestant’s Onstage Q&A score was actually higher, resulting in that contestant’s overall score being 0.1 point higher than the contestant who was announced as the winner, therefore, altering the outcome of the pageant. Olympia Le Paige is 1st alt. and Katty Wampus is Miss Gay Kansas America 2026.

The Miss Gay America Organization has been in communication with both the promoters and the contestants regarding our findings, and we are actively working toward an appropriate resolution.

The Miss Gay America Organization is committed to the principles of integrity, honesty, fairness, and transparency. While we regret that this error occurred, we believe it is our responsibility to acknowledge it openly, thoroughly investigate its cause, and take the appropriate steps to ensure the integrity of our system and the confidence of our contestants, promoters, judges, and supporters.
