Big thanks to everyone who joined me for the release of my first poetry collection, “Between the Tracks and the River~Life in North Lawrence, Kansas” at The Raven Bookstore last night in Lawrence, Ks. It was great to share space with Patrick Emerson whose cover photos made the book into a real work of art. And it would not have happened without the effort of Anam Cara Press, plus the unfailing support of my husband, Steve Stemmerman, my sister, Carole Connet, and by now, the hundreds of creative people who have sat around tables with me expressing themselves in writing. You know who you are. Geez. I feel like I think I just won a friggin Oscar or something cause I want to also thank my friend Dianna Palos for recommending Patrick Emerson and Samrat Wheeler and Alice Lubinmeyer for the photo illustrations and The Raven for supporting local poets! And….Ok. They’re playing music. 🎶
