This week, my husband and I celebrated seven years of marriage. 🤍
As we reflected on it all, we kept coming back to the same image: marriage is a lot like sailing.
Sometimes you’re navigating dicey conditions — stormy weather, tough calls about which direction to go, or just trying to stay afloat. Sometimes the boat itself needs repair.
And other times? You get that perfect, peaceful day. Beautiful weather, golden sunsets, and you wake up another morning in good health, grateful to still be on the water.
It can be thrilling, relaxing, chaotic — often all three in the same week. But it is always ends up beautiful.
Along the journey, you each have your own roles. Your own responsibilities. But you need each other to keep going.
If you keep Christ at the helm as your captain, continue to work together, and love each other well — your marriage becomes the journey of a lifetime. Just as wonderful along the way as the final destination. ⚓
