A Trans Person Peed Here - A Protest and Benefit Show

Earlier this year, Kansas passed one of the most extreme anti-trans bathroom laws in the nation, dictating that people must use restrooms at government offices that match the gender they were assigned at birth. One of the first people we know has been threatened under the law so far is Siobhán Kirchstein, a janitor at the Univ. Of Kansas and the current secretary of Lawrence Pride.

We're hosting a benefit show with a whole bunch of amazing q***r and trans artists, performers, poets and activists from around the area to support Siobhán and also provide some history on other anti-trans actions by KU.

We're diving back into our regular monthly events with our beloved trivia night! July's all about the Summer Hits! From blockbusters to nostalgic anthems, Luna's researching hard to write you another fantastic night of brain wracking questions.

Come stave off the heat with Ramen Bowls tasty boba drinks. Games begin at 7pm but we always encourage teams to be a little early to get your table and orders in. See you soon!

What can you expect from the dungeon area of the Lawrence Pride After Dark party?

The dungeon area will be upstairs at the Granada. There will be a station at the upstairs bar at which you must sign a waiver and receive a wrist band in order to access it. The dungeon will be open from 8pm to Midnight. The dance party on the main floor goes until 1am.

There will be five stations with demo people through out the evening:

*sh***ri and rope
*impact play
*violet wand electric play
*latex and sensory play
*cat maid with a menu of options

In addition we will have one spanking bench and one cross available for you to pose or play with partners and friends on.

DJ .lea and VJ will be holding down the main floor, with a full interactive dungeon upstairs. Featuring blacklight and glitter paint stations, spicy art vendors. Come dance and play with us!

For June our dear hosts Luna and Carma Lea are taking a break from trivia and drag bingo to celebrate, but you can still play with us! This Saturday we are hosting the Lawrence Pride after party at the Granada, and on third Wednesday it's our Q***r Competition Night. Follow along for more details!

You can buy tickets to Lawrence Pride After Dark in advance online, but the online fees do make it a lot more expensive. It will be $10 at the door, or you can buy them early at Lucia in person and avoid the online fees.

For Pride month, Q***r Competition Night is going to pay homage to the least recognized demographic in Lawrence: Bearded White Guys.

Q***r Competition Night: Beards

You know em, you love em (or hate em), you've slept with em....we all have. So the Competition for June is: come out and give us your best bearded white man impersonation. Actually bearded white guys can't compete. But we will have a panel of beards judging you.

We will also be shaving someone (possible multiple) bearded men on stage for charity! Nicole from New Growth will be on hand to transform our victim/volunteer into a brand new, clean shaven person.

And I'll have a very special guest co-host for the night, our own bearded Vantas Q***rie!

Stick around after the competition yo dance the night away to DJ Carma Lea!

Sneak peak of what I've been building. One of my goals for the Lawrence Pride After Dark party has been to give people a dance and party experience like we see in movies, complete with gogo dancing cages. Building this has been an incredibly satisfying and fun project, and it's not even finished yet. We should have two of them that will be featuring our gogo dancers, but ALSO available for you, yes YOU, to dance and pose in.
