Some of your favorite Art in the Park artists will be participating in the Lawrence Art Guild’s Art Spaces - Studio Tours Event this weekend!

“Art Spaces” is The Lawrence Art Guild’s free two day open-studio tour of artists' studios and art spaces and will be showcasing 45 artists in 22 studios and creative spaces

Art Spaces - Studio Tours 2026
Saturday, May 2nd (10am to 6pm)
Sunday, May 3rd (noon to 6pm)

This unique event allows the public an opportunity to get to know the artists in their neighborhoods and their community.
A chance to step inside the working studios of local artists, see where they create and talk to them about their inspirations and creative processes while seeing hundreds of pieces of artwork on this tour.

You may learn how a ceramic artist loads a kiln, about the dyeing process of natural fibers, or learn what paints and preferred brushes a painter reaches for to create their works.

Art in the Park 2026 - Call for Artists
Deadline - May 31st

Art in the Park 2026 (Sept 19th and 20th) is a juried fine art and fine craft event held in beautiful shade filled South Park (12th and Massachusetts) on the south end of Lawrence’s historic downtown.
125 plus artists booths, 10 Bands and a wide variety of sweet and savory food trucks.

Applications are currently open on Zapplication (a free artist application service). In addition to individual art booths we have an emerging artist program for artists who have never participated in an established, juried, fine art fair. The shared booth spaces will have display walls, some shelving and the tents provided by the LAG so all you have to bring is your art. Four artists will be chosen by the jury for this program.
Artists who apply under this program and are juried in but do not make it into the shared booth spaces will be offered the opportunity to create their own booth space and mentorship to do so if they choose to.

Inspired by surface textures, Jen paints on a burnished and sealed Venetian plaster panel. Choosing to work in acrylic, graphite, China and glass pencil because it fits the immediacy she needs to create the multiple layers and movement found in her paintings. Embracing the unexpected while creating with intention. Maintaining control within a piece without suffocating it is an awkward dance, but her goal is to create a piece that ultimately finds its own balance and sense of self.
