At 8th and Massachusetts in Lawrence, there's a new gem of a mural planned and painted by a local Girl Scout Troop #2856. Endangered, But Not Forgotten is the theme of this mural. These young ladies have created such a remarkable story about the animals of Kansas that are threatened in one way or another. Everything I looked at brought a smile to my face and a reminder of hope. The beautiful bat family. The cheeky little salamander. The curious turtle makes this a mural you have got to see!!

You can find it on the wall of Ad Astra Running behind Kizer Cummings Jewelers. It's in this little landscaped nook.

Thank you Girl Scouts for this wonderful addition to our city!!

I read somewhere in my research that there's a goal in Lincoln County, Kansas for every city to have a mural. This is the contribution from Beverly along k18. I also found a Coca-Cola mural left over from their early days of advertising.

I took an overnight mural hunting trip this past weekend along K-18 with stops in Talmage, Tescott, Beverly, Lincoln, Vesper, and Lucas. I'll be showing off the murals I found in the week ahead.

Hot off the presses in KCK!! Yesterday in the 600 or 700 block of Minnesota avenue. I happened upon two artists currently at work on completing this mural!!!! It's so new that the two artists were up on the boom lift. Working on it. It's gorgeous and very colorful!! I'll try to find out more information about this creation!!
