Opening Today: "In Threes "
June 16 – August 30, 2026
Christian and Foil Galleries

We’re excited to welcome In Threes, a beautifully layered exhibition that brings together the intertwined visions of photographers Maude Schuyler Clay, Langdon Clay, and Sophia Clay. Rooted in Sumner, Mississippi, their work spans decades and generations, revealing how family, place, and shared history shape an evolving artistic legacy.

Arranged in groups of three, the photographs highlight echoes and divergences across the family’s practices—moments of narrative, flashes of humor, and a shared reverence for late afternoon light. Curated by Ashley Gates and presented by The Do Good Fund, the exhibition offers a rare look at a multigenerational creative conversation unfolding across the Delta and beyond.

We look forward to sharing this intimate and resonant exhibition with you this summer.

Join us this Thursday at noon for a special conversation with photographers Maude Schuyler Clay, Langdon Clay, Sophia Clay, and Ashley Gates as they reflect on the intersections of family, place, and artistic practice. Together, they will discuss the shared landscapes that shape their work, the distinct ways each ways each approaches portraiture and the built environment, and the evolving dialogue that emerges when their images are seen side by side.

On view in THE PRINTS OF SAM GILLIAM from the Michael K. and Marian E. Butler Collection, Providence 6:36 (1999) may look like a biblical reference, but it’s actually the departure time of a flight from Washington to Providence. Its delicately cut shapes and radiant colors showcase Gilliam’s mastery of layered composition. See it before July 26, 2026.

Organized by Landau Traveling Exhibitions in association with the Griots Gallery @ The Center for Haitian Studies, Miami, FL.
