Bearcats Create: Art by Saint Vincent Alumni opens TONIGHT at the Verostko Center for the Arts!

Join us from 4–7 p.m. to celebrate the incredible artists featured in this exhibition, explore the artwork, meet participating alumni, and be part of this special celebration of Saint Vincent’s creative community.

Tomorrow night, we open the doors to Bearcats Create: Art by Saint Vincent Alumni!

THE 43 works of art and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards will be revealed!

Our juror, Alison Brand Oehler, has carefully selected the award-winning works from this incredible exhibition, and tomorrow night we’ll finally get to share those selections with the artists, their families, friends, and our community.

Celebrate the next generation of artists alongside the alumni exhibition!

Their future is taking shape, and they’re framing it themselves.

Join us Thursday, September 3 at the Verostko Center for the Arts for the Opening Reception of Framing the Future, a showcase celebrating the incredible work created by the students of Frameworks: A Teen Art Collective!

For many of these students, art isn’t simply something they enjoy—it’s part of the future they’re imagining for themselves.

They are beginning to explore what it means to pursue an artistic career, and we are honored to support them as they take those first steps toward their creative futures.

The reception is free and open to the public, and we would love to see our community come out to celebrate these talented young artists!

Looking for a little space to move, breathe, stretch, and reset? Join us for a FREE yoga class in the green gallery at the Verostko Center for the Arts!

Beginning this Wednesday, September 2nd, yoga will be offered on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month.

Whether you’re new to yoga or have an established practice, come take some time for yourself in an inspiring gallery setting.

Join us for our first in-person meetup on Wednesday, September 2!

WHO: Any teen who loves art
WHAT: Frameworks' first meetup of the season

Reminder!
The Verostko Center for the Arts will be holding an opening reception for Bearcats Create: Art by Saint Vincent Alumni,
the Center's inaugural exhibition devoted exclusively to the work of Saint Vincent alumni.

Visitors will have the opportunity to meet participating artists, explore the exhibition, and celebrate the vibrant creative community that continues to grow from the Saint Vincent experience.

On view from August 29 through December 4, 2026

Opening Reception
Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. The reception is free and open to all.

This exhibition, organized by Dr. Elizabeth Barker, Director of the Verostko Center for the Arts and juried by Alison Brand Oehler from Concept Gallery, celebrates the lasting impact of the College's visual arts program while highlighting the accomplishments of graduates whose creative practices continue to enrich their communities and professions.

Two exhibitions. One celebration of creativity.

Alongside Bearcats Create: Art by Saint Vincent Alumni, we’re excited to showcase the work of our Frameworks: A Teen Art Collective students in Framing the Future.

These talented young artists have spent the year exploring their creativity, developing their artistic voices, and creating work that reflects their ideas, experiences, and perspectives. Their creations will join the work of Saint Vincent alumni, creating an exciting celebration of artistic achievement across generations.

Come celebrate our alumni and our young artists and experience the energy, creativity, and enthusiasm they’re bringing to the gallery!

Join us at the Verostko Center for the Arts as we come together to celebrate our alumni's growth and artistic journeys.

Bearcats Create: Art by Saint Vincent Alumni highlights a remarkable diversity of artistic voices, media, and perspectives. Through painting, drawing, photography, fiber arts, printmaking, mixed media, and more, the exhibition reflects the many creative paths alumni have pursued.

Summer has a way of slowing us down—and this painting captures that feeling perfectly.

The Flower Picker by British artist William Kay Blacklock invites us into a peaceful countryside where the simple act of gathering wildflowers becomes something timeless.

Blacklock was known for his idyllic scenes of rural life, celebrating the beauty found in nature and everyday moments.

His paintings remind us that some of the best parts of summer are also the quietest.

A work in progress and a major accomplishment.

Over the course of many of our Frameworks sessions, one of our students has dedicated time to developing this large-scale oil painting.

From the first sketch to carefully building layers of color and detail, this piece represents patience, persistence, and tremendous artistic growth.

At Frameworks: A Teen Art Collective, we celebrate the creative journey just as much as the finished artwork. We can't wait to share the completed painting at their opening reception on September 3rd!
