Some work earns a paycheck. Some work leaves a legacy.

This Labor Day, Taps for Veterans honors the hands that have built, served, protected, taught, healed, and strengthened our nation across generations.

We also recognize those whose service continues quietly—our volunteer buglers who answer the call, prepare with care, travel the miles, and stand beside grieving families when presence matters most.

Their work may last only a few minutes at a graveside, but its meaning endures far beyond the final note.

Today, we salute every American whose honest labor helps carry this country forward—and every volunteer who gives their time and talent in service to others.

May we never forget that some of our nation’s most important work is done not for recognition, but out of duty, compassion, and gratitude.

One week from today will mark the 25th anniversary of a day that changed America and the world forever.

As we remember the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001, we are also reminded of the strength, courage, and compassion that brought our country together. One way we can carry that spirit forward is through service.

On Sept. 12, American Legion Auxiliary members are invited to join the National Day of Service and Remembrance by helping clean headstones and beautify national cemeteries.

Today, we recognize the hardworking Americans who keep our communities, businesses, and country moving forward.

Labor Day is a time to celebrate the dignity of work and the people behind it—including the countless veterans who continue serving our nation in classrooms, hospitals, factories, farms, first responder roles, small businesses, and communities across America.

Thank you for your service both in uniform and beyond.

When the community rallies together to help individuals and families experiencing lack we often think of food, clothing and monetary donations. How often do we think of clean clothing or the ability to have it?
We have partnered with St. Peter’s Episcopal Church of Blairsville for their Laundry and Fellowship Program. Father Joseph and his wife Kathy receive laundry detergent from a sponsored program; they do not however receive dryer sheets, stain remover or quarters.
We have a collection basket in our Canteen to help with this wonderful program.

*ROLLS OF QUARTERS OR MONETARY DONATION MADE PAYABLE TO THE CHURCH
Any and all donations are greatly appreciated. We will be collecting until Saturday September 26th.
