Whether it's a child's Birthday party of 20 or a corporate event of 200, Ariel-View Caricatures has been delighting and amusing audiences with caricatures drawn live on the spot for over 25 years. Working quickly in marker, a black & white "head & shoulders" caricature of each guest can be produced in 5 minutes or less. A caricature makes a wonderful memento of your event that your guests will tre

asure for years to come. For a small charge, special pre-printed paper can be customized for your event with your company logo, the date or any other info you'd like to include. When completed, each drawing is placed in a transparent plastic sleeve at no extra charge. A two hour minimum is required for any event. Need more than one artist for your event? No problem! Need a face painter as well, or instead of, a caricaturist? Music icon, Elvis Aaron Presley, died at the age of 42 on this day, August 16, in 1977. He was found unresponsive on a bathroom floor at his Graceland estate in Memphis, Tennessee, and was pronounced dead at Baptist Memorial Hospital.

“Well, excuuuuuse me!”
Happy birthday to Steve Martin, who was born on this day, August 14, in 1945! He first became known in the 1970s for his wild and wacky stand-up comedy routines. Martin became a national cultural phenomenon by completely reinventing stand-up comedy with his signature white suit, banjo, and an absurd, anti-comedy style. He packed giant sports arenas with fans who loved his catchphrases and his famous comedy song, “King Tut”. He also became a favorite host on Saturday Night Live. His comedy records, Let’s Get Small (1977), A Wild and Crazy Guy (1978) and Comedy Is Not Pretty! (1979) sold like rock albums.
To cap off an incredible decade, he made his first big leap into cinema by starring in the 1979 slapstick hit film The Jerk. Co-written by Martin and directed by Carl Reiner, the movie was a giant box-office success and proved that his wacky humor worked just as perfectly on the silver screen.

Happy birthday to legendary actor, Dustin Hoffman, who was born on this day, August 8, in 1937. After his 1960’s breakthrough performances in The Graduate (1967) and Midnight Cowboy (1969), he went on to have a career in the 1970s that is widely considered one of the most critically acclaimed decades for any actor in Hollywood history. He became a definitive face of the “New Hollywood” renaissance by tackling deeply complex, gritty antiheroes, historical figures, and intense thrillers. From Little Big Man (1970), Straw Dogs (1971) and Papillon (1973), to Lenny (1974), All the President’s Men (1976), Marathon Man (1976), and ending the decade by winning the Best Actor Oscar for his powerful performance as a single father going through a divorce and bitter custody battle, in Kramer vs. Kramer (1979).

The popular American sitcom, What’s Happening!! premiered on this day, August 5, in 1976. It aired from 1976 to 1979, and followed three working-class African-American teens—Raj (Ernest Thomas), Rerun (Fred Berry) and Dwayne (Haywood Nelson) as they navigated high school and life in Los Angeles. It was known for its humor, memorable catchphrases, and positive portrayal of Black youth.

The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour premiered on this day, August 1, in 1971. It was a massive hit variety show that originally aired on CBS and starred the famous married pop duo Sonny Bono and Cher. The series blended sketch comedy, musical numbers, and playful, sarcastic banter between the couple. Every episode famously wrapped up with the couple singing their signature hit song, “I Got You, Babe”.

Highway to Hell, the sixth studio album by Australian hard rock band AC/DC, was released on this day, July 27, in 1979.
It became AC/DC’s first album to break into the top 100 of the US Billboard 200 chart, eventually peaking at number 17, and includes such iconic tracks as Highway to Hell, Girls Got Rhythm, Touch Too Much, Shot Down in Flames and If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It).
Featuring Angus Young’s legendary guitar work, and the raspy, rebellious vocal delivery of lead singer, Bon Scott, who would tragically die less than a year later.

Happy birthday to Lynda Carter, who was born on this day, July 24th, in 1951. Lynda is an American actress, singer, and beauty pageant titleholder best known for her iconic portrayal of Diana Prince / Wonder Woman in the hit live-action television series Wonder Woman (1975–1979). Rising to fame in the mid-1970s, she became a foundational symbol of female empowerment and pop-culture history.

Happy birthday to Linda Ronstadt, who was born on this day, July 15, in 1946.
She revolutionized popular music as the first female “arena class” rock star in the 1970’s. By fusing country, rock, and folk, she dominated the charts with multi-platinum albums like Heart Like a Wheel (1974) and Simple Dreams (1977), cementing her legacy as the “First Lady of Rock”.
Linda masterfully interpreted songs by a wide range of artists, scoring massive hits with “You’re No Good,” “Blue Bayou,” and “When Will I Be Loved.”

Legendary actor, screenwriter, director, and producer Sylvester “Sly” Stallone was born on this day, July 6, in 1946.
Rising from a struggling actor as an extra or in uncredited cameos in films like Klute (1971), Bananas (1971) and What’s Up, Doc? (1972), to breakout roles in The Lords of Flatbush (1974) and Death Race 2000 (1975) and finally to Rocky (1976), where he wrote the screenplay and starred as down on his luck boxer, Rocky Balboa, launching him into global superstardom and winning Best Picture. The film also earned Stallone Academy Award nominations for acting and writing.
He then starred in and co-wrote the screenplay to F.I.S.T. (1978), and wrote, starred in, and made his directorial debut with Paradise Alley (1978), before heading back into the ring for Rocky II (1979), where in addition to starring again as Rocky, he also wrote and directed the film.
