We are super stoked to have Garrett Evans as our MC for the 2026 LVMF. We will see you there too Saturday, September 12 from 12 to 10 PM. (Rain date 9/13)

Garrett Evans is a Detroit born comic who started his comedy journey in 2023 but is already making a name for himself in the comedy community mostly in a good way. He's worked the stage at clubs like Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle, Hollywood improv, Toledo Funnybone, and Traverse City Comedy Club, as well as crowded one-nighter bar shows for tens of people. He's been a guest on podcasts that neither you nor he has ever heard of. He was a finalist in both the Detroit 2 LA comedy competition and the Sunday Funnies comedy competition. Performed at the Laughter on the lakeshore, 989 fest, and Jesters comedy festivals. He travels the Midwest telling his yuk yuks to anyone willing to listen and sometimes to those who aren't. His comedy points out his many life mistakes and the world's absurdities, being a husband, being a father and how he has no idea how to deal with most of this stuff.

I’ve had the great opportunity this year to host live in Lathrup Village podcast and meet community leaders, business leaders, artists, and others that contribute to their communities.

This interview is particularly close to my heart and I hope you will be inspired by Matthew Simpson and his little brother Major. Matthew has produced a workbook on financial literacy and plans to make a difference in the lives of kids in underserved communities. Using what he knows, what his studies were, he created a business called “take us home”, which is all about the end goal.

Matthew will be at the 2026 LVMF in a Vendor booth highlighting his workbook. I hope you’ll stop by.

Amazing!! A challenge to draw the community together turns into a major event and now we have 1000 followers on Facebook!! Thank you, friends. The 2026 LVMF is making all of its final tweaks and promises a show to remember. Seriously prepare to stay all day!!!
