The Show -
A new version of the celebrated murder mystery that inspired Hitchcock’s masterpiece! Tony is convinced that his wife Margot has been cheating on him. Now it seems that the affair is over, but in his jealousy Tony spins a web of suspicion and deception that will tighten around them and ensnare them both in danger, recrimination and murder.

Available Roles -

TONY WENDICE - Male presenting. 30s/40s, English. Was a struggling novelist, now does publicity and marketing for a large publishing house. Conniving and outwardly charming, with simmering resentment. Married to MARGOT WENDICE.

MAXINE HADLEY - Female presenting. 30s/40s, American. A successful murder-mystery writer. Is in London to promote her new novel. Smart, forthright, and secretly in love with MARGOT.

LESGATE - Male presenting. 30s/40s, English. Has spent his life scrambling to belong with the upper class, and isn’t above lying, cheating or stealing to get there. Crafty, sly, and not nearly as smart as he thinks he is. Went to school with TONY.

INSPECTOR HUBBARD - Written as male, but can be any gender. At least as old as the other characters, but probably older. English. Just the facts, ma’am. Very good at their job, and doesn’t like being fooled. Operates by the book, but goes above and beyond to find the truth.

The role of MARGOT has already been cast.

It is important for this production that TONY, MAXINE and LESGATE appear to be the same age. There will be drinking and smoking in this production. English accents required for all characters but MAXINE.
