🎬 One Indigenous storyteller is helping reshape television history.

Sterlin Harjo (Seminole/Mvskoke) has been honored with the prestigious Peabody Trailblazer Award, recognizing his powerful contributions to television and his commitment to bringing Indigenous voices to the forefront.

Harjo is best known for creating Reservation Dogs, a groundbreaking series that made history as the first U.S. television show with an all-Indigenous writers’ room and directing team. Through humor, authenticity, and heartfelt storytelling, the series introduced audiences around the world to Native experiences rarely seen on mainstream television.

His work continues to open doors for future generations of Indigenous creators. The Trailblazer Award is Harjo’s third Peabody recognition, highlighting the lasting impact of stories rooted in culture, community, and lived experience.

During his acceptance speech, Harjo spoke about the importance of representation and opportunity, reminding audiences that diverse voices enrich storytelling and help people better understand one another. 🌎✨
