Here's my sad little pond build failure! Husband and I worked our assess off on it, used at least 7 cans of pond foam and waterfall still leaks. Hired someone to re-build it, and it still leaks, so thinking somehow liner got a hole in it, so have to rebuild it from the beginning.
For now just got a pump on the bottom level. Want to maybe get rice fish since it's way too small for koi! It's in full sun so hoping to make top level more a bog filter once waterfall works to combat the algae.

This pond was here when we moved in 15 years ago. Over the years I’ve made lots of mods to up the filtration and aeration. I cut back a lot of the vegetation in the fall as it was getting overgrown. For years the pond would be about 30% covered in beautiful water lilies. Last year we adopted some very large koi from another pond in my neighborhood that ate all the beautiful lily’s. All that being said, this pond needs shade and since the fish don’t listen to me when I ask them not to eat the plants, I’m looking for ideas to shade the pond that looks great in my back yard. Any pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I recognize my pond is a lot larger than most ponds on here, but you guys are so helpful We have about 60k gallons and this is our first summer running. We have a 10k gallon wetland filter, 4 aerators and 13 jets pushing water toward the intake. We have about a dozen or more first year goldfish and koi. We treated with algicide and beneficial bacteria through the spring but the water is about 80° now and has definitely turned green. We have been fortunate to not have any string algae yet but I am looking for recommendations to clear up the water. We probably have about 20 plants in the bog and a couple of Lilly’s on shelves. Any suggestions?

Hello everyone. We moved into this house last May. There was this beautiful Koi pond install installed. It was left unattended for a couple years. I know nothing about this stuff. We’ve had an extremely difficult time getting this going. We’ve had pumps go out hoses breaking. I ended up getting a sand filter on marketplace, but it’s still not keeping the water clear. We are right next to a wooded area and there are lots of stray cats. I don’t think I want to feed them so we won’t be adding fish. Looking to keep the water nice looking . Not looking to break the bank what are my options?

I will be putting my house on the market this spring. I am wondering if it is possible to transport my koi to a new place? (I would be moving about 7 miles away). It will be a temporary tank (stock tank?) until I can get a new pond built 😬. Or….is it better to sell them to a person that has / sells koi?
Anyone done this before? I have had them for 14 years and I love them and they are big😍.

Question regarding mosquito dunks. I have never used them before but the bugs are terrible this year and I want to avoid harming pollinators so I thought I’d start with trying the mosquito dunks and see if that helps. Does anyone use them in their pond? I know it says they are safe for birds, fish, plants etc but I am hesitant for fear of destroying my pond and killing all my fish. 😅😅

Light as a feather! Made my skimmer box look like a rock! 4 cans o’ 1”-3” hole filler spray foam, some carving, a little cement mixed super thin as paint, mixed on with our red clay mud for color
