Everyday we add to our own history.

Scrolling. Laughing. Clicking. Hearting. Commenting. Sharing. The hours can pass by quickly with an endless stream of content. Your only sacrifice is productivity and quality facetime with those you love. If scrolling aimlessly has become your new stare-at-the-fridge boredom mode, I challenge you to take a break from social media, or at the very least set a time limit. Add to your history something meaningful. Add something you can remember. Add something that grows and contributes to a greater good. Fill your boredom with meaning.

I’ve been pretty quiet here lately, logging in to share things of interest and curating a feed for those reading this page. Then *p**f* I’m gone once more. Original content has slowed. My medium has shifted. Life has been shifting, forcing a bit of a change in my self-expression. What it comes down to is the realization that history will fail to exist when memories fade. Each day will blur into the next and become indistinguishable from the next unless action is taken.

Lately, I’ve had increased anxiety regarding everything I have forgotten or missed or have just a vague memory of at this point. Fourteen months ago I had been pregnant, yet it seems impossible. My only evidence is a scar at the bottom of my abdomen and a passing memory of secondhand hiccups. My days are now filled with action, chasing a little boy eager to explore and experience and grow. Sadly, I am no longer making time to make art. I blame it on not finding the hours to focus, but the desire to record and process what I am seeing in the growth of my child is my new driving force.

If you’ve made it this far, wow and thanks. I’m still curating a feed to share my findings of beautiful art. So if you do take my advise to limit your consumption of social media, keep following, commenting, hearting, and sharing.
