I put all my roosting bars at the same height. Is there any real benefit to a ladder configuration bs all the same height? I'm not a fan of instigating a "pecking order". All 60 of my chickens sleep very well on roosting bars all the same height.

Whelp, I guess that’s my sign… time to put the cover on 😂❤️ The chickens have officially made their decision, and who am I to argue with the flock? 🐓🙌 Apparently the uncovered furniture has been deemed the perfect hangout spot, and their vote carries more weight around here than mine does 🤣🐔

Apparently Pearl had enough of the 100-degree heat and decided the pool was the place to be. I walked outside and found her floating around like she belonged there. And yes, before anyone asks, she was immediately taken out. 🤷‍♀️☀️💦

Happy wife = happy rooster = happy life 🤣💕

We ended up making this little wheelchair for our sweet boy because at around 10 weeks old, he started walking funny. At first he was just a little wobbly, but it slowly got worse over time. He spends quite a bit of time resting on his hocks and sometimes loses his balance, so we’re really hoping this helps support him, strengthen his legs, and encourage him to walk more normally again 🙏💙

The thing is, he does everything else just like a normal chicken — he eats, drinks, and goes about his day with lots of determination 🐔✨ He just needs a little extra help getting around. We’re hopeful this gives him the support he needs and helps him build up his strength 💪🥹

Honestly, watching my husband go from “absolutely not” to fully engineering a chicken wheelchair has been one of the funniest and sweetest things ever 😂❤️

This is the second hidden clutch we found this week. I have 7 hens 5-6 months. I thought only 3 of them were laying. But a couple others were doing the squatting submissive thing so I figured the would start soon. The last couple weeks I thought the 3 stopped laying I assumed it was because of the heat. But I would hear them sing the egg song. So we started to search the property. Found 19 a couple days ago and 32 today. How do we train them to lay in the box?
