Who:
After graduating High School, he immediately joined the military & served with the 173rd in 2003 in Kirkuk, Iraq. He gave the once in a life time opportunity to one of his pals, because he wasn’t too enthused about the idea, and felt as if he didn't deserve to take away such an occasion from someone that was waiting for something as important as this. At times he comments in a joking manner, “I declined history, because I wanted to make my own, lol!” While in Iraq, DR Melo met R&B singer Bianco from Houston, Texas. Even with such predicaments war brings, Bianco continued working on his music, and DR Melo began to work with him. While using the time as productively as possible and under the direction of Bianco, DR Melo learned and picked up tips on how to improve his live performance and vocals. He also picked up some knowledge to become better involved in the professional side of the music industry. After Iraq, DR Melo chauffeured for Bianco in Italy, and the entourage of Charrolastras. After a short period attending performances with Bianco, DR Melo relocated to Colorado. Finishing his service with the National Guard, he met talented new artist Michelle Sanchez in 2004. Inspired by the young talent, he decided to continue singing because some had taken notice and mentioned he had a nice voice; and thus created A.D.A.P.T. In 2008 DR Melo met Joseph Jr from Young King Nation and was featured on many of JR’s authentic beats. YK Nation went on various tours, with Grammy Award winning Bone Thugs, Bizzy Bone, and opening acts for Baby Bash, MC Magic, and world renowned Lowrider Magazine Shows in various states. What:

The idea had been rolling in DR Melo’s mind for a while in mid 2004, but it started emerging in late October when he met Producer Song writer Michelle Sanchez. As they discovered each other’s passion, and love for music they decided to unite and create music. Not officially in a group, because all collaborating artists worked with other artists; they decided to still continue this very family oriented business in the music industry under M.D. (Michelle & DR Melo)
DR Melo, the CEO of Deeper Than Poetry Entertainment, attributes the founding name to a conversation with Michelle Sanchez. On August 2014 Andy Herrera; DJ Kane's manager & President of URBANO LEGACY RECORDS, offered DR Melo the position of A&R Midwest Representative. In 2016 DR Melo joined Joseph Junior once more to push the new brand, and are continually producing new music. Where:

For Love, Family, Music, Children, and a better world
DR Melo loves music because it has always been there for him through the hard, lonely, tough times. As a young child he wanted to sing, but because of his family circumstances it wasn’t affordable, and he couldn’t attend competitions or even put time into singing. Family issues also affected his personal life and belief in ever making music, yet the desire to entertain, inspire, and help people still dwelled inside his heart. As the issues grew, he was determined to change his life style, and moved away by joining the U.S Army. Learning new ideas, seeing new places, and meeting new people helped him grasp new ideals from a different perspective; then on, acquiring courage, leadership skills, and respect for life. These new conditions began to transform him into the man that he is; yet constantly evolving into a new man daily. He is a very family oriented gentleman with old school morals, manners, business like demeanor; and at the appropriate times jester like. Like he always says; “Mom brainwashed me well, lol!”
Developing and inspiring people, is one of his top priorities in his life. He is a loving, dedicated man waiting for the right women for him to settle down and raise a family with someday. For now, his full attention is completely set on his music, impacting people in a positive manner, and his career. More:
DR Melo has traveled in USA, Europe, Asia & Africa. He loves to travel and is eagerly working towards his expanding & sharing his talent world wide so he can travel even more. He enjoys chatting with people, loves to learn new languages, and loves learning about different cultures. He is very multicultural; communicates in 10 languages, and is always trying to improve and learn new languages. He has learned to open his mind up to other life styles; especially music. After finishing his active duty service, he decided to relocate to Colorado to help his grandmother, but he resides in Las Vegas, NV. Sometime in the future he is looking forward to opening a hostel or an Airbnb, so he can share his experiences with others.
