Happy 100th to Sir David Attenborough! 🎉

“If children grow up not knowing about nature and appreciating it, they will not understand it, and if they don’t understand it, they won’t protect it, and if they don’t protect it, who will?”

Thank you for a lifetime of sharing this beautiful planet with us 🌎✨

Did you know American Bison walk directly into storms when almost all other animals run or hide from them?? They aren’t stormproof, but they seem to understand if they can push through the intense weather, they’ll reach the warmth on the other side much faster.

Our planet is facing a different kind of storm right now, but you and I aren’t running away. We’re facing it head on, chasing the goodness that will grow on the other side… Everything we’ve made and shared this week, are seeds for a better tomorrow. I trust us to pull through and sow something beautiful for the benefit of all the living things on Our Planet. 🌱✨

Thank you for joining us for what a beautiful and inspiring community we’ve created! I’m so grateful to have played a small part in it 💛✨

That shimmer beneath the surface holds a special kind of magic ✨
Kelp forests are some of the hardest working ecosystems on the planet- growing fast to pull in carbon, create oxygen, and housing hundreds of different species of marine animals all the while.
Kelp need cold, nutrient-rich water, so rising ocean temperatures put these environments at risk.

Don’t let the ocean lose her sparkle- and show our support of marine conservation efforts and sustainable fishing practices. Cutting down single-use plastic is a great start if you aren’t sure how to begin… Together we can help ensure a healthy, glowing planet for generations of creatures to come!

🌎🌏🌍✨
With more than a thousand entries so far, you guys have dived into this incredible movement with beauty, skill, and kindness! Thank you for inspiring us all 🌊

Ever heard of a HABOOB?? Yes, that’s its real name 😉
These powerful dust storms form when winds from collapsing thunderstorms push a massive wall of dust and sand across the landscape. They can happen anywhere, but are most frequent in regions like the Arizona desert I grew up in… One minute the sky is clear, and the next a towering wall of dust is rolling in- sometimes thousands of feet high! 💨💨

Haboobs are dangerous, but still important. They move tiny particles of soil across long distances, spreading nutrients that enrich faraway ecosystems and even reach the ocean! In fact, much of the iron needed for plankton to thrive is carried in from storms like these.

🌍🌎🌏✨
Our planet is intensely interconnected, and even if a storm causes us to lose visibility for a moment, in time we always see the bigger picture!

Pretty with a real purpose! Did you know waterfalls help add the needed oxygen to make freshwater habitats possible? They help purify, aid in decomposition, shape the land, and of course deliver the drinking water and soil nutrients we all need just to survive on our planet!

Freshwater sources have become increasingly strained, but supporting them can simple- pick one or two (or all 😎) to help make a difference right now:
1. conserve water by turning off the tap, fixing leaks, or rain harvesting
2. Learn about watershed protections and the freshwater policies in your community
3. reduce the use of chemical fertilizers/pesticides to keep pollutants out of streams
4. Join a cleanup effort and plant native species near your river areas
5. opt out of using AI- the people and planet will thank you someday 🙏🏼
Help us keep the freshwater flowing and

🌏🌍🌎✨
I can’t believe the amazing turnout we’ve had so far- you guys are absolutely inspiring, so let’s keep the good times flowing!!

Taking up only 0.1% of our planet, Mangrove forests show us how something small creates a massive ripple effect for good. 🌱🌊

Did you know Mangroves store 4x as much carbon as rainforests, and 10x as much as most other forests? They protect shorelines, act as animal nurseries, filter saltwater through their roots and leaves, all while hosting some of the most biodiverse habitats on the planet!

These tangles of trees are Earth superheroes in disguise- but now they need our help.
We’ve lost 35% of Mangrove environments to development and pollution, but the good news is they recover FAST once protected! So

🌏🌍🌎✨
As a host, I want to say THANK YOU for joining us this week as we work to advocate for wild places and creatures! Happy
