Dear Matilda, I’ll cut right to the chase. Both of my parents are Nefs and, to be honest, it’s causing me some problems. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t go for all that prejudiced stuff that some witches and wizards at Falconcrest go on about. I don’t like any of that preachy nonsense about the importance of being true natured. I am new natured after all and that’s fine by me. [ 1,441 more word ]

Dear Matilda, My husband and I just had our first child about six months ago and up until a week ago things have been going more smoothly than anticipated. She sleeps well through the night. She eats plenty. All in all, she’s a happy, smiley, healthy baby. Needless to say, we thought we’d have no trouble getting her to move from sleeping in our room to sleeping in her nursery. Dear Matilda, When I awoke this morning, I wasn’t myself. I don’t mean I didn’t feel like myself. I don’t mean that I was ill or extra tired or cranky. I mean I was literally someone else...still am in fact. You see, up until this morning, I was a happy, well-adjusted, healthy forty two year old man. I had a wife and three children (all Falconcrest students). [ 1,597 more word ]

Dear Matilda, When I tell you that I have Aglimplephobia, I’m not trying to be one of those trendy witches who just says it because they heard that Genie Wimbleton of The Gobstones has it. I mean it. I’ve had it ever since I can remember, and I can remember as far back as my sixth birthday when Robert Angler put turnip juice in my hair. [ 1329 more words. ]

Dear Matilda, In order to tell this story properly, I’ll need to rewind to the beginning of the summer when I was wandering a largely empty Falconcrest, looking for my remedial Magical History class or whatever. You see, I’m not so good at Magical History. I mean, I can tell you the life story of my favorite characters on Weston Witches and I probably know a bit more than I should about Shawna Greenleaf and her fashionistas. [ 1845 more words. ]

Dear Matilda, Prepare yourself for a tale of brutal woe and utmost injustice! Never before have I felt so slighted as when I sustained this most recent injury to my ego. You see, I was once an honored member of The Far-Reaching Eye. Of course, you already know who we are but for those of your readers who might be painfully ill-informed, I’ll explain. Dear Matilda, About a month ago, my mother-in-law moved in. Before you jump to any conclusions, that’s not really the issue. The truth is that I love my mother-in-law. We’ve always had a great relationship (or at least better than average according to what’s expected between women and their mothers-in-law). When I’d first heard that she’d be staying with us for a few months as she looked for a place nearby, I was even a bit excited. [ 1352 more words. ]

Surreptitious Spuds and Rocking Rainbows

Greetings, Here at the Brewster Academy of Culinary Arts we try to find different ways of presenting foods that are usually firm favorites with everyone. We can usually do this by altering the appearance of the food but not the ingredients. It takes some ingenuity and spirit to ‘think outside the bo...

Greetings, Just recently I had unexpected visitors arrive at my home. I was delighted to see them but at the same time I was thinking to myself that I wished that they had just given me the courtesy of a call or sending one of their falcons with a message about their imminent arrival. Isn't it always the case that when you have unannounced visitors you are just at the point of running out of some tasty treats to offer them. [ 955 more words. ]
