The Valley Theatre Awards wants your opinion on what makes good theatre!
As the 2016-2017 Valley Theatre Awards Season begins, the Valley Theatre Awards is issuing a casting call of its own! The Awards is looking for talented, passionate and dedicated theatre fans to join its ranks of adjudicators!
Valley Awards adjudicators are the heart of soul of the Valley Awards process. They see each show, determine whether it is Valley Recommended, and then vote for the final year-end awards. Becoming a Valley Awards adjudicator is open to anyone, but you must attend one of the orientation sessions. The Valley Awards will host three orientation sessions to welcome new members and refresh the procedure for current adjudicators. The dates and times are:
Saturday, May 28 at 11 a.m. in the Las Vegas Little Theatre Studio space.
Saturday, June 4 at 1 p.m at Art Square Theatre
Saturday, June 18 – Location and time TBD.
At each session we’ll cover …
How to approach adjudication and evaluate theatre with a critical eye
How the balloting system works
How shows become Valley Recommended and eligible for year-end awards
What the requirements of being an adjudicator are
All are welcome! Even if you’re just curious about how the process works, the rules and who the adjudicators are, you’re welcome to join us! To RSVP, please email the date you’ll come to [email protected]. (RSVP’s are not required, but are definitely appreciated!)
Please pass this invitation along to anyone interested in being a judge!
