Would you walk into a job interview and announce, “I refuse to use email”? Probably not. But I know people who proudly tell potential employers they won’t use AI. That may sound principled—but is it practical?
AI presents legitimate concerns involving privacy, job displacement, misinformation, and the need for intelligent regulation. We should take those concerns seriously.
But refusing to learn how to use AI won’t stop it from changing the workplace. It may only prevent you from keeping up with it.
My latest article, “AI: Tool or Taskmaster?” looks at the difference between allowing AI to control our decisions and using it responsibly to strengthen our own ideas, creativity, and productivity. The idea should still be yours. The judgment should still be yours. AI should simply be the tool.
I’d love to hear your thoughts: Are you embracing AI, avoiding it, or still trying to determine where the line should be?
