Womxn of Color Arts Festival is shaking all over with joy and excitement for the next exhibit in our partnership with the Marjorie Barrick Museum, A Common Thread.

WoCAF’s co-founder, Ashanti McGee, has curated an exhibit that weaves together the voices and perspectives of nine women of color, Adriana Chavez, Ashley Hairston Doughty, Yacine Tilala Fall, Noelle Garcia, Isar King, Tiffany Lin, Desire Moheb-Zandi, Lyssa Park, and Ailene Pasco. This exhibit builds on ancestral artistry weaving, beading and sewing towards a liberated imaginative expression.

It’s our Anniversary!!!!!!

And while we decided to NOT gather this year for the safety of our communities, we have been HELLA busy.

Instead of one weekend even, WOCAF decided to spend this past year building partnerships and better systems to support, celebrate and elevate WoC artists. This is just the beginning... here is what we have been up to:

*supporting and encouraging while she build a brand new space for artists!!!
* Supporting each other when we needed a break
* Supporting each other when we did break
* Supporting each other as we took time to heal.

This year we have leaned heavily into the Emergent Strategy concept by “Build the resilience by building the relationships.”

We are sad to not be gathering and holding space with our community this year, but we are confident that was is growing is stronger, braver, wilder and more liberated than we could have ever imagined!!!

Thank you for supporting us and each other through this year. We cannot wait to celebrate in shared space with you again soon.
