Working together in conjunction with the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa, we are sharing this update with respect to Wes Wintersโ continued performance schedule. As Wes said during his show on May 24th, the South Point has been working on a variety of challenges and changes. Those deal primarily with having the physical space to accommodate their growing needs. After spending a great deal of time trying to find solutions, difficult and some somber decisions had to be madeโฆ one being to phase out lounge entertainment but keeping and focusing on showroom entertainment. The one exception is the Dirty at 12:30 comedy show since it runs so late at night, making it immune to the other hotel/casino activities.
So, after an amazing 15 years and one month that consisted of 1,226 lounge shows, Wes Winters' weekly performances have concluded at the South Point.
The relationship between Wes and the South Point remains very close, with mutual respect and with an open door for upcoming opportunities, events, and possibilities. Rather than ending, it is evolving.
Change generally requires adjustment and is sometimes poignant. With that said, Wes is moving forward with a positive mindset while adjusting and looking for the next home where we can continue to share music, dancing, amazing and close friendships, and all the things weโve grown to love these past 15 years. ๐ถ๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐, I want to give my deepest and heartfelt gratitude to everybody who came out and supported me these past 15-plus years. It has been one of the most cherished experiences and honors in my life to do what I love in a place that became a home, and to share it all with you, who became family. Through the losses of dear friends and loved ones, a world-wide pandemic, and so many other occurrences life has given us, we always came together to share a love of music, dancing, laughter, fun, and wonderful friendships. The gratitude I feel for all of this makes me immensely proud and my heart completely full. While we work to โturn the pageโ to find where we will land to begin writing this next chapter, know we do so with you in mind and counting the days until we can get back to doing this together again.
