Pro Park Paint Project with for City of Las Vegas Government curated by Paints with Care 🎨🛹🛼🚲

We are humbled and honored to have been included in this historical project for the City of Las Vegas. This isn’t the first skatepark to be painted in Las Vegas, but it is by far the largest and we couldn’t be more proud of our team for executing this massive project so well.

This mural project sparked from Nico having the urge to paint an older looking skatepark that seemed forgotten about. When he approached the city they pulled us in and we couldn’t be more honored to help manage and curate a project that has given some life back to an old dusty park for our skater community.

This skatepark mural project consisted of painting three skating areas over two weeks of painting. In one of those areas we curated a weekend community painting event where we invited the local community to come out to leave their mark on a local skatepark.

All paints on this project have been tested and approved by our team of skaters and painters to ensure the surface will remain skatable.

Hey Las Vegas!

Did you know we have our own LOCAL POPPY FLOWER?!🌼

So local that it ONLY grows here in Clark County and parts of the Mojave desert. What's even more special is that this little wildflower has a partner, the Mojave Poppy Bee! This species of bee only pollinates this one flower.
Now isn't that something special?

Over the last 30 years both species' populations have experienced major decline. So much that Springs Preserve has conservation efforts to house this flower and even have a few you can spot from a safe distance on the trails. We partnered with Spotlight.xyz to start a donation campaign to go to conservation efforts at the preserve.

So what can you do to help save the Las Vegas Bearpoppy and the Mojave Poppy Bee?

- Keep an eye out when driving on any dirt desert roads to be sure you aren't running over any desert flora and fauna!
- If you see the LV Bearpoppy out in the wild, leave it bee! 🐝 Or rather, leave it to the bees! If you aren't sure if it's a Bearpoppy, best to be safe and not get close to check.
- Please do not go searching for this delicate wildflower out in the wild as the soil disruption caused by weight of shoes, cars, etc can make detrimental impact on the gypsum soil and shock the plant that would result in it dying.
- Spark the conversation with friends and loved ones who regularly use off-roading vehicles. Talk to them about the uniqueness and rarity of gypsum soil and how delicate our native desert plants are. Explain to them that off-roading vehicles have the most devastating impact that can potentially wipe out this species, and others in one day of fun.

We are thrilled that our mural at UnCommons Las Vegas has brought more attention and awareness to the (currently petitioned) critically endangered polinater and polinatee; the Las Vegas Bearpoppy and the Mojave Popy Bee 🌼🐝

We hope this mural sparks the conversation and awareness that Las Vegas has their own wildflower that has been in decline over the past 30 years! Click the link and watch the video segment to find out more. 🌼🐝

The Las Vegas bearpoppy is extremely rare and conservationists worry it could go extinct. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service issues a decision on it's endangered status later this year.

🎨 PAINT A SKATEPARK 🛹
Community Mural with and this weekend 4/13-4/14 at Pro Park in Las Vegas, NV.

Here’s some tips to consider before coming out this weekend:
- 🖌️ Plan for collaboration. This is an open invite for locals, families, and those who share a collaborative mindset when it comes to creativity. Be sure to share with your kids that this community mural means everyone has the chance to paint together!
- 👖 Expect to get messy! Dress accordingly, wear clothes that are okay for paint splatters. Be sure to bring your own clean up supplies such as hand wipes or rags. There will be some available as well, but best to come prepared.
- 🎨 Paint and supplies will be provided. Due to the safety concerns of this surface we have tested our paint to ensure the surface maintains its integrity for skating. ➡️ For this reason we are kindly asking any artists planning on showing up, please do not bring your own paint or supplies.
- 👧 Kids under 18 have priority when painting. Keep in mind there will be limited spots available to paint.
- 🙋 Run into a problem? There will be artists and city officials assisting on-site to ensure everything runs smoothly.
- 🎟️ Grab a raffle ticket after you’ve finished painting. Raffle winners announced at 2pm each day, one prize/person. No doubling up on prizes!
