❄️ FEBRUARY 2026 – NEW YORK CITY

A record-breaking winter storm hit New York City as we prepared for another trade show at the Javits Center.

Most people know him as Pop.

His name is James Brown.

After raising their family on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, my mom and dad made a life-changing decision. Around the age of 50, they left New York City and started a new chapter in Lafayette, Alabama.

That's where they are today.

In Lafayette, Pop is known for his beautiful pecan and plum trees, his famous banana pudding, his amazing singing voice, and most of all, his dedication to family and friends.

Growing up on the Lower East Side, about 95% of my friends came from single-parent households. Over the years, many of them would tell me:

"Dwayne, you have a great dad."

At the time, I didn't fully understand what they meant. Having both parents at home was simply normal to me.

As I've gotten older, I've come to appreciate just how fortunate I was.

This video isn't really about a snowstorm.

It's about character.

It's about showing up.

It's about a man who has spent his entire life putting family first, whether in New York City or Alabama.

At 82 years old, he's still pushing forward.

▪️ 2 days rebuilding and reorganizing the warehouse after breakdown
