REGGIE BUGMUNCHER!

If you don’t know who this fantastical beast of a human is, here is the skinny.

Reggie is an American entertainer based in Palm Springs, California. She is ½ of Philadelphia’s Olde City Sideshow, and has been performing in sideshow for over a decade. As a solo performer, she travels the country working everything from the midway to nightclubs and variety shows. Reggie is one of the few women in the world performing several unique acts such as the anatomical wonder act and riding a motorcycle in a high wire thrill show. She has appeared on the Gong Show, Americas Got Talent, been featured in stories by news outlets from Fox to NPR and in books and magazines on Tattoos and Sideshow. She has opened up for Primus, suspended for Jane's Addiction, performed for Ripley’s Believe it or Not, and at Tattoo Conventions across the globe. She is committed to community building in the sideshow arts.

Won the Candlelight award from the Circus Historical Society, spent 4 years building the Hoot!

If you don’t know who she is, well here is a quick note on this talented performer.

Miranda Allen is an international variety artist, escapologist, actor, and theatre maker. She recently appeared on season 7 of Penn & Teller: Fool Us, where Penn Jillette called her escape from a wine barrel “perfect”. Miranda also performs on streets and at outdoor events as Tianna the Traveller, an international stunt woman always in search of adventure. She runs a small company of stiltwalkers and a few years ago was nominated for a Sterling Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for her portrayal of Lizzie in a Canadian production of Pretty Goblins. She has also learnt during the pandemic that she is terrible at growing vegetables.

Todd Robbins has spent a lifetime immersed in various arcane forms of popular entertainment. He is well known for his involvement with magic, sideshows, seances and spook shows, ragtime and early jazz, vaudeville, burlesque, circuses, scams and cons, and old-time medicine shows.

He has done several popular Off-Broadway shows including Carnival Knowledge and Play Dead (which he wrote with Teller, of Penn & Teller), and created and hosted the TV series True Nightmares on the Investigation Discovery Channel. He also created the acclaimed Speakeasy Magick show at the Mckittrick Hotel and is a producer of NYC longest running magic show, Monday Night Magic.

He currently has a dark true storytelling podcast called Abnormalcy and is creating content for his YouTube channel, including his daily vlog This Day in Darkness, his travel vlog Down a Road Darkly, and his storytelling magic performance series Deceptionations.

It’s happening this next special episode drops tomorrow!! My special guest is none other than author and publisher of James Taylor’s Shocked and Amazed, On and Off the Midway... Mr. JAMES TAYLOR!!

Here is a small snippet of who he is:

James Taylor is the co-founder of Dolphin-Moon Press, Baltimore’s second oldest literary publishing house. A graduate of Johns Hopkins University’s Writing Seminars, he has been at the forefront of Baltimore’s literary scene since the early 1970s, organizing literary events and chairing the Baltimore Mayor’s Advisory Council’s Literary Panel for Artscape, the country’s largest free outdoor art’s festival. For nearly a decade, he served on the Maryland Governor’s panel to select the state’s Poet Laureate. His journal, James Taylor’s Shocked and Amazed! On & Off the Midway, is the world’s only publication devoted to the history and current status of sideshow, novelty and variety exhibition. He has been covering “the other entertainment” for over two decades and has been featured in assorted media worldwide for his work in that field. He is also the co-founder of Baltimore’s American Dime Museum and Washington, DC’s Palace of Wonders and Red Palace. And besides having been a featured regular on Ripley’s Believe It or Not Radio and in the Huffington Post, it’s a rare event – be it conference or convention – featuring novelty & variety entertainment during which he isn’t lecturing on the business we call show.

I’m super stoked about this next guest. She is the producer of one of the leading female acts on the Renaissance circuit and is an amazing women’s rights activist.

I give you Danielle DuPont!

A short bio:

Danielle is the Producer and Director of the Washing Well W***h Show; running for over 25 years, seen annually at over 30 festivals and employing more female comedians than any other renaissance festival act on circuit. Where once the ratio of main stage female acts on circuit was worse than female acts at comedy nights in night clubs, now you’re more likely to see one of the Washing Well W***h shows than any other comedy showing at a Faire. As a teen she snuck under the fence to get into the Faire and was caught and conscripted to work the fencing booth where, (the universe is a comedian) she excelled, as she had been an Olympic hopeful in the sport before her “foster-incarceration”. Danielle graduated Magna Cum Laude in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences at the University of South Florida Honors College. She spent time as an after school teacher for the developmentally disabled, has partnered several domestic abuse shelters with festival entertainment nationwide, and has served RESCU Foundation for many years as a board member and volunteer, serving currently as President. Her husband William is a falconer with the non profit Wildlife Revealed and she spends much time crafting raven enrichment programming with their feathered ward Hoogin. Her daughter, who graduated from the same honors program at USF, is a librarian who, (carrying on the family tradition), specializes in interactive theater and games in her library and cosplay lifestyle. Danielle’s life has entwined service and mischief in equal measure and she rises each morning torn betwixt the two.
