🌊 “The Last Sandcastle of the King”
A love letter. A letting go. A sea-change.
This song is a surreal passage through memory, myth, and grief—told in tides and Coltrane.
It began with a line of highway at sunrise and ended in whispered incantations from the ocean floor.
Written in the heat of grief and transcendence, this song is a journey across water, memory, and the final act of surrender. Inspired by Shakespeare’s *The Tempest* and Coltrane’s *A Love Supreme,* it is a spell—spoken with reverence, improvised in sound.
I wrote the lyrics as both invocation and surrender to the brilliant score written by legendary avant-garde composer Jair-Rôhm Parker Wells.
To what was.
To what never could be.
To what still lives in the tide.
