an early age, Mocha demonstrated a deep passion for music, words, and visual storytelling. She began singing at just four years old and developed her love for poetry and visual arts in grade school. Pursuing her passion academically, she studied Vocal Music Education at the University of Southwestern Louisiana. Mocha Blue Blaze has made a lasting impact in the entertainment and arts community. As an affiliate of the Recording Academy (the Grammys) and IMDb (Internet Movie Database), she has been recognized for her outstanding contributions to music. Between 2017 and 2024, she received multiple nominations for the Las Vegas Black Music Awards (BMAs), winning three: Best Urban Music Performer and Best Neo-Soul Artist in 2020 and Best Female Jazz Performer in 2023. She was also part of the 2014 Black Women in Jazz Award-winning compilation project for Best Jazz Recording with Women in Jazz South Florida. In 2018, she won another Black Women in Jazz Award for Best Neo-Soul Singer. Beyond her personal achievements, Mocha is deeply committed to arts education and mentorship. She has led songwriter seminars, poetry symposiums, arts and crafts classes, and artistry presentation workshops. As Executive Director of the Trubian Village Cultural Equity Foundation & Academy, she is dedicated to preserving and promoting the beauty and cultural significance of the arts on a global scale.
