Welcome to the Spotlight for Graduate Cohorts, where we celebrate the achievements, journeys, and milestones of our graduate community
Autumn Simone Morgan, born and raised in Vallejo, California, around 7 years old she moved on from wanting to be a pediatrician to wanting to be a cartoon. She was in all the church plays growing up, but did not have access to the arts growing up. After theor army careers Autumn and her husband moved to Las Vegas. Fall 2020 is when Autumn started in the theatre program as undergrad at UNLV. For the first time in her adult life she was around people who “got” her.
She performed in her first show ever through the student ran Second Stage (now warehouse theatre) in an original work Antigone: The House of Oedipus as Ismene in Spring 2022. After earning her B.A., she was asked to come back to join the graduate program!
The last three years have been a wild ride. Among the characters Autumn has explored, she had the privilege of gaining the new role of mother to her beautiful daughter.
She has had the privilege to work on shows through NCT with so many amazing artists and people she now considers family: Pride and Prejudice as Elizabeth Bennet, Hedda Gabler as Juliana Tesman, Passage as H, Murder on the Orient Express as Mary Debenham, Mr. Burns as Maria/Bart, A Christmas Carol 1941 as Mrs. Fezziwig/Kate, American La Ronde as the Student, Violet as Landlady/Lula Buffington, She Kills Monsters as Vera/Evil Gabbie among others
Autumn has also served as an instructor for Advanced Scene Study courses and T.A. for advanced acting styles like Comedy of Manners. She taught Introduction to Acting in her last semester.
“Thank you UNLV, NCT, and the theatre community in Las Vegas for giving me an opportunity to experience things beyond my wildest imagination.”-Autumn
