A quiet lament about what’s been lost.
About scraped knees, open doors, and conversations that didn’t need a screen.

This piece reflects the shift from tactile, shared childhoods to a world of glowing rectangles and isolated moments—where connection exists, but feels distant.

The poppy.

Delicate, vibrant, and heavy with meaning. This flower has become a central motif in Johnathan Schultz’s newest series.

Set against a Renaissance background, the flowers capture the collision of beauty and danger, remembrance and addiction. These works reflect the fragile balance between what heals and what harms, reminding us that symbolism is rarely ever simple.

Exhibiting alongside incredible artists in ORIGINS II at Miart Gallery London has been both grounding and inspiring.

Each artist in this exhibition approaches the idea of “origin” through their own lens, exploring memory, identity, and transformation. My contribution, a series of gilded poppies, exists in dialogue with these voices.

While others trace roots, heritage, or renewal, my work focuses on the contradictions we all face. Beauty and decay, strength and fragility, hope and loss. Together, these pieces form a collective reflection on how we confront the past and shape what comes next.

It’s powerful to see how our individual stories connect. If you’re in London, I’d love for you to experience it in person and engage with the conversations that art can spark.

Every symbol carries both pain and possibility.

Poppies have long symbolized beauty, but they also speak of addiction, war, and remembrance. Set against a field of gold, these blue poppies ask the viewer to sit with the tension between and object that is at once both fleetingly fragile and f powerfully destructive.

Honoured to be part of ORIGINS II at Miart Gallery London. An exhibition that celebrates how every beginning carries the possibility of renewal.

Grateful to share space with such inspiring artists and to see my work contribute to this collective story of resilience and transformation.

If you’re in London, I’d love for you to experience it in person and engage with the conversations that art can spark.
