R.I.P. to one of our Look Who’s Dancing contestants from season 1.

Karen Trujillo contributed so much to her community and will be missed. Our prayers go out to her family and friends.❤️

The men and women of the Las Cruces Police Department extend our sympathies to family, friends, colleagues and the thousands of students touched by Dr. Karen Trujillo.

Karen put her stamp on our community like so few have. She has deep roots in the Mesilla Valley and was an exemplary product of New Mexico State University. Karen taught at NMSU, served in various capacities with Dona Ana County and for the State of New Mexico, and was continuing her mission of education as Superintendent at Las Cruces Public Schools.

More so, Karen was a loving wife and mother to three beautiful children. We have heavy hearts and grieve Karen's passing with her family and with our entire community.
